Randomness

Image
Randomness... We have power. I missed the meter on all zeroes. So here it is on 1. Pretty fancy for a bunch of metal boxes... Kalee is still enjoying Dance. This is one of her other leotards. I think it is adorable! Very sporty! Forms finishing going up and getting ready to pour walls. Peyton, Matt, and Harley checking it out. Pump truck arrived!! Pouring the walls! This is the view from the South...The walk-out basement.  Two retaining walls. Lots of activity at the neighbors house! Kalib was freaking me out a little bit. He is just holding that hose thing walking along the top of the walls in his mud boots. I was so afraid he would slip and fall. Concrete!!! YAY!!! See what I mean about being perched up there? Those forms aren't a thick thing to stand on! See, they are up there...It's really neat to watch. They are taking the forms off this morning and the truss guy will be out tomorrow morning to measure for our trusses.  Then Matt will really be busy!!  If ...

Dance Class

Image
It's been two weeks, but the girls started dance class at Dance and Flip. They love it! Both go right in with smiles and have a fun time. Both love that Jess Ervin is their teacher. Both are in major love with their tap shoes! They do Ballet, Tap, and Gymnastics. There is also a big trampoline to bounce on that they are pretty excited about! I can't wait until recital time!!  (I'm embarrassed by these pictures, but they are the best I got of Peyton, so I am posting them.) She has tumbling first! She loves that her Friends are in class with her. I love that she has friends!!

Kalee Jo Starts Preschool

Image
Kalee's first day was a major success. Kalee got up in the morning and was SO EXCITED!! She got dressed and immediately put on her backpack. She was jumping up and down telling us SHE was going to SCHOOL!!!! So after we got to Mandy's...we had to give her a bath and actually do her hair (instead of the slight mess she was in the first picture!) We went to the sign and took pictures before school. Then in the back yard. They have to find their names and stick them on the attendance board so they know who is there. Putting her backpack away in her cubby. Mommy and Kalee Jo Singing her hello song. Criss cross applesauce. She said she had a blast and couldn't wait to go back! I miss her afternoon nap. She has been in bed by 7:00 each night this week. I am so glad she likes it. I deserve one kid who goes to school with no problem, right? I think so too...

My new adventure...

Image
I am starting a new adventure... I am now going to be watching kids during the week. We are at Mandy's house for now...since there's no Hinds Homestead yet to be in! I started yesterday morning. We start by taking the big kids to school. How cute are they all with their backpacks? Adorable! Then we go back to the house and the little kids play all morning. Then the little kids will go to school! I love that they are all in the same class!! Then we will pick them all up and hang out some more! We had a special Ice Cream trip for the first day of Preschool! They did this themselves...they are lined up by age. McTaggart cousins. I love it!!

Catch up

Not much is happening at the Hinds Homestead. Kalib came out the other night and measured the fall of the land so we know how the walkout will work now. His digging guy should be out today to take a look. (keep your fingers crossed)...Hopefully we will be digging next week!! As the storm was rolling in, and lightning was flashing...this is Kalib...holding a metal stick in the air. Doesn't seem too smart to me...Just saying! The storm I mentioned... Which led to this... Window wells full of water. Massive seepage into the basement. No power. A shop vac and generator to suck up the water. Not a fun evening. Matt's audience. It's hard to go to bed with a shop vac working in the next room. We had some water... The beans start our land... It was a bit flooded in the bottom part! But don't worry, the house will be nowhere near that! This is the highest I have ever seen the water. Maybe one other time in my life do I remember seeing it this high! Sunday we went to the Cards ga...

An official Mailbox!

Image
It's official... We have a mailbox! Matt spent Sunday night putting it up. digging the hole... The girls helped! They didn't like the saw! Isn't it nice to see a cute guy doing hard labor? I think so too... Official! And our sign... In case anyone wonders who will be living there!
