AAAHHHHHHHH!!!

It is 9:15 in the morning. I have been up 3 hours and already this is the most frustrating day. I guess I need to accept that there are parts of motherhood that just suck. Apparently, in my world, school + Peyton is going to be one of those things. I have been happy that when we take her to school, she has been happy to be in the room and doesn't mind when I leave. The down side to this is that every morning, we have a horrible time getting her ready. She screams, throws horrible fits and cries. All because she doesn't want to get ready for school or she doesn't want to go to school. So this morning was no different, except for the fact that we didn't even have the nice drop off...she clung and cried. So I guess Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays are going to always be a struggle in the Hinds house. SO FRUSTRATING!!!! I knew I would curse myself by saying how well she was doing. What happened to my happy girl? Mornings are her best time...and on any other day o...

Cards win! and other randomness!

Matt and I went to the Cards vs. Cubs game yesterday. We went with Matt's friend Bob and his girlfriend, Sarah. We had a good time. Of course, it was even better when the Cards won!! I am feeling pretty gross today though...ballpark food and DiCarlos for dinner were NOT healthy choices! Definitely not choices that are going to help me look great in my bridesmaid dress and swim suit in Mexico! So working out pretty hard today!! The girls stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. I bought some golf clubs at a garage sale Friday, so Matt took some extra ones and cut them down for the girls. Ever since they watched him play in Orval's outing, they have been asking him to let them play too! They hit some balls in Grandma and Grandpa's yard, but quickly lost interest when Grandpa pulled out the play kitchen that Grandma Joan had sent for them to play with! They were pretty excited about that! We have had a lazy day here today. Matt is at the firehouse. The girls and I slept un...

Dentist!

We had a super exciting day yesterday. The girls went to the dentist for the first time. We are going to Dr. Jerger, a pediatric dentist in Decatur. I am so happy with his office! It is all decorated in Disney! Disney movie posters and pictures all over the walls and paintings of Disney characters brushing their teeth (what else?)!! All of the employees have name tags with Mickey Mouse, like they wear at Walt Disney World! Kalee was in Mousy heaven! Mousy even came with her for the visit and Dr. Bret told her how much he loved Mickey! The office had all sorts of toys to play with while they waited, then we got taken back for a tour of the office and so that we could meet all the friends who worked there. The girls were shown around and introduced to everyone. There is a big room with all the chairs in it...all with huge flat screen TVs playing different Disney movies! Kalee got to go first and jumped right up in her chair! She was amazing, I was so proud of her!! Peyton had a little tr...

Pawnee, Girard, Golf and Glasses

It's been another busy weekend in the 'Burg. Well, actually, I guess we weren't in the 'Burg at all the entire weekend, so another busy weekend in Pawnee and Girard... We went to Pawnee Saturday. Matt helped Pop finish some plumbing jobs that they had started on a few weeks ago. I really wanted to make some salsa, but there were no tomatoes to be had at Walter's house, so it was a no go. I guess I will have to buy tomatoes from a roadside stand. I am really wanting some salsa! Megan was telling me that she made some and it got me craving it! Kate came over also and I got to see Lily Bug!! I was missing her. It's been over a month since I saw her last! She is crawling and dancing...so adorable! She also has so much hair! She is definitely going to take after her momma, not daddy, with her dark hair! We spent the night in Girard. Orval's Memorial golf outing (Matt's uncle Doug's dad, who passed away this year after a battle with cancer) wa...

Day 2

Day 2 went just as well as day 1 of Preschool. It seems too good to be true! Oh well, I'll take it! Peyton went right in and did her "jobs" (putting away her bag, folder and picking her drink). Then she went to play with a puzzle and read a book. No tears, no clinging, AWESOME!! Kalee was upset again that she didn't get to stay. She kept saying I want to play with the tractor puzzle at school. So she and I spent the morning playing outside. It's so funny how happy she is once we get home. I think she loves not having the competition for the toys or the bossiness that is Peyton telling her how to play! She had every baby out and every stroller with them. Plus, her tricycle, 4 wheeler, shopping cart, firetruck... I have a new TV obsession...Melrose Place. Sad, but true. I watched it last night and am hooked. Can't wait for next week! There may be a problem though...I think it is at the same time that DWTS is going to be on. Speaking of DWTS...di...

Labor Day and Preschool

Image
Yesterday was the Labor Day parade in Decatur. The firemen always walk in it. We took the girls' fire truck and Peyton drove it the whole way. She had her friend Lindsey with her...her daddy works at Stations 3 with Matt. They had a good time! Kalee didn't want to ride the truck. She wanted in her stroller, actually, she was jumping up and down clapping yelling that she got to be in the stroller!!! Who knew strollers were more exciting than battery operated fire trucks?? The girls got a bunch of candy so they were pretty excited about that! Matt was just happy that the firetruck battery lasted the whole parade!! Today was Peyton's first day of Preschool. She went right in and put her bag away, picked her drink for snack (chocolate milk) and found a puzzle to play with. There were no tears!! (even from me...are you proud?) That is so exciting! Kalee was upset when we had to leave. She said, "I stay with Peyton at school!" But she is happily home now playing ...

The past week...

Another week has passed and I finally have time to blog again! We had a fun week last week. We went to the hot air balloon festival in Lincoln Friday. This is the third year we have gone. We go with the Bubba's...another Decatur firefighter and his family. They have 3 daughters and one son. One of their daughters is a month younger than Peyton, so they always have fun. We sit at Lincoln Christian College and watch he balloons fill and launch. They are so pretty! We had a minor issue after the festival. We got home and Kalee was missing her favorite Mousy. She was upset, "where's Mousy??" She had it when I put her in her seat at the festival, then one of the Bubbettes told her goodbye and closed the door. I guess he fell out when this happened. So we got home and couldn't find him. Matt ended up driving back to Lincoln even though he didn't want to. "It's just a stuffed Mouse..." I tried to explain to him that it is not just a mouse. It is her fav...
