Cards win! and other randomness!
Matt and I went to the Cards vs. Cubs game yesterday. We went with Matt's friend Bob and his girlfriend, Sarah. We had a good time. Of course, it was even better when the Cards won!! I am feeling pretty gross today though...ballpark food and DiCarlos for dinner were NOT healthy choices! Definitely not choices that are going to help me look great in my bridesmaid dress and swim suit in Mexico! So working out pretty hard today!!
The girls stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. I bought some golf clubs at a garage sale Friday, so Matt took some extra ones and cut them down for the girls. Ever since they watched him play in Orval's outing, they have been asking him to let them play too! They hit some balls in Grandma and Grandpa's yard, but quickly lost interest when Grandpa pulled out the play kitchen that Grandma Joan had sent for them to play with! They were pretty excited about that!
We have had a lazy day here today. Matt is at the firehouse. The girls and I slept until 8:30! It was awesome! They were tired since we didn't get home until late last night. Kalee was especially tired, she took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. Peyton didn't nap at all. I guess I just have to accept that she is past napping. I hate it though! There are days when I really think it's for the best that we all sleep!! I cleaned this morning. Another sippy cup bit the dust...it was found under Peyton's bed and was solid curdled milk. Not something I am willing to clean. I think I've said before there are few things worse than curdled milk in my world! (vomit, blood, potty training, curdled milk...)
I am loving how Kalee is talking these days (though I am sure I will ask myself many times in the future why we ever taught her to talk...at least that's how I feel about Peyton when she is being overly sassy!). She is talking in whole sentences and it's so cute! She can also sing her ABC's and Twinkle, Twinkle! She is pretty proud of herself for those!
Peyton is figuring out how to read. We are working on sounding things out. I love those Leap Frog Letter and Word Factory movies! They are the best! School continues to go well...hopefully I am not cursing us by writing that! I just wish I knew what they were doing. Her teacher last year sent a note home every day telling what they did that day. This teacher doesn't do that and Peyton is not very forthcoming with information! When you ask her what she did at school, she usually says, "I can't tell you!" She did wake me up the other morning at 6:30 to tell me that she remembered two of her friends names...Salvador and someone else...I forget now. I guess it was pretty important to her since she woke me up so early! And no wonder she couldn't remember the names any other time I asked her...Salvador??!!
