Some of My Favorite Things

Image
Here are some of my favorite things right now (other than the obvious family and friends!!)... My Pandora Bracelet. Lily gave this to me for Christmas. She got me the pink glass bead. I think it is so pretty. Matt got me the Breast Cancer Awareness charm for my birthday. It makes me happy and reminds me every day of mom and her strength. This bedding !!! In all the houses Matt and I have lived in, we have never decorated our master bedroom. We have always lived with whatever color we inherited with the house. I have never bought pretty bedding for myself! I have always drooled over brown and orange bedding. I found this at Target last week, and bought it immediately! I LOVE IT!! It has just an accent of rusty orange that I love. I am going to get brown sheets and bed skirt. The girls and I went and got paint samples today to look at colors. I am going to paint the wall that the bed will be against in the new house orange to match! It will be beautiful, trust me!!! I love Poppies !...

Being positive...or at least trying to be!

OK, I will try to be positive and believe that the house will sell soon and we will be building soon as well! So I am going to share what I am excited about now... I picked our appliances for the new house!!! They are super wonderful! I have said all along that the kitchen is one of the most important rooms to me. I want lots of counter space and plenty of cabinets! If you know me at all, you know that I love cooking! I think I have more than my share of kitchen accessories. I am looking forward to having the space to actually spread out and make things! Plus the storage areas to stay organized! I am also looking forward to having a display area for my good china. I have had it in the attic since we have lived in this house. I want to be able to look at it and use it whenever I want!! So these are my appliance choices...all GE Profile, all stainless steel. I will have a 36" gas cook top. Double wall ovens. The top one being an Advantium oven. It is a combination Mic...

Disappointment

Well, I was so excited this week. We got an offer on the house and agreed on a price. The lady is getting money from an insurance settlement since her house burned. So she had to get an appraisal before the insurance would cover it. They appraised our house and say it's worth much less than the appraisal we just got in July. So we are not going through with the deal obviously. So back to square one...and not excited anymore.

One more thing...

I guess Matt truly doesn't have many dress clothes. Since he is wearing the same brown plaid pearl snap shirt in both my favorite pic of us from the cruise and from Mexico! HA!

Things I learned in Mexico

1. Don't take beef jerky into the country. The scary Mexican Customs agents confiscate it. "You can't have this!!" Though I am convinced they had some nice beef jerky from the stupid Americans for their break... 2. You can't return to the US with your pretty $50 bridesmaid bouquet. Thankfully, they told us that one, so Katie kept them for the rest of their honeymoon. The girl has more flowers in her hotel room! 3. Offer the wait staff and employees drinks. They will appreciate it. They will do anything for you after you spend time with them drinking...case in point, Screwdriver Eduardo, who made sure the boys could stay in the pool while it was raining by bringing them umbrellas to stand under while they drank with him! 4. All it takes to open up the boob flashing is one drunk girl to start it off. Don't be that drunk girl, especially when your dad is in the pool with you. Or at least make sure he turns his back. 5. Eating at the Japanese restaurant after d...
