The poop saga continues

I just have few quick things to say this morning to keep Lori entertained!! ~~~~~~ Kalee had her worst blow out yet this morning. Worst because it required both mommy and Kalee Jo to have baths and new outfits. It was nasty. Very much so! I am going with Kari's advice and buying her some Pro Active! I'll keep you updated because I know how riveted you all are by the stories of my daughters bodily functions. Without them, I don't know that I would have much to talk about. ~~~~~~ I need to rant about two things this morning also...First, we are finally (after two years of living in this house) painting our living room! Thank God because it is ugly and was starting to drive me crazy. But anyway, we had this ugly paneling crap on our stairway and entryway walls. So Matt took it all down (YAY!). Then he was filling in around the doors with foam stuff. He made a bit of a mess. And instead of going into the laundry room which is literally two steps away and getting a r...

It's been another one of those days...

We have had a day here at the Hinds house. Kalee is being a whiner and Peyton is trying my patience! Kalee just doesn't feel good. She is on this medicine that is making her poop 25 times a day and they are all runny. I know, a lot of info, but I am totally grossed out by it. I think I have said before that poop is one of those horrible parenting responsibilities. I checked her diaper today by pulling out the back to look down in there. It was full...up past her crack and I stuck my finger right in it. Good times. She is also getting more teeth, so I am sure that is contributing to the poop factor. It also makes her have a horribly runny nose. So she is annoyed by me constantly wiping it. But I just can't stand to have her eat her snot. It is another thing that totally grosses me out. Especially when she sneezes and it gushes out all over her face. YUCK!! ~~~~~~ Peyton is just seeing what she can get away with today. I am convinced that she gets this from her Da...

30 Random Things

I got this sent to me on Facebook today so I thought I would share it on blogger. I like these survey things. I think it is fun to learn something new about your friends and family. I especially love when my mom and dad play along and answer the questions on these things. I even found out that Dad played the guitar when he was in the service. Who knew? So here are 30 random things about me that you might not have known. It started out as 25 things, but I had more... ~~~~~~ 1. I love my family more than anything. 2. I think it's awesome that I have 4 sisters, well really 5 because I count Tara Jo as one. It's funny to me when people are shocked by this fact. 3. I think my girls are the most beautiful things on this earth. 4. I love to plan. I wish I could get married every year because it was so fun to plan my wedding! 5. I believe in ghosts. 6. I am afraid of elevators. Especially when there are a lot of people in there with me. I am afraid it will fall. 7. We...

Peyton is Matt's kid

So Peyton and Matt were just playing catch. She popped a squat and let out a loud toot. Then laughed hysterically. She then went into the hallway and started lifting her leg to toot. She said that's how daddy does it. Then she yelled Time to Poop! And ran into the bathroom. It is times like these that I take no credit for this child. She is ALL MATT! It is scary.

We are boring this week

Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes. I had a pretty good birthday. As good as you can have when you go to a visitation and have to stand outside in the snow for an hour to get in. It was crazy. I would say without a doubt that Cody was well loved by many people. He will definitely be missed. ~~~~~~ Really not much had been going on here. I had an aha! moment this morning. Peyton looked at me and said "Momma, your belly looks like there is a baby in it." I guess I need to do some more sit ups. Like I said about the Daddy's big head comment, she is 3 and usually tells the truth. She has babies on her mind I guess. We are finally going to all go see Lily on Saturday. Hopefully it won't snow anymore! Peyton watched John and Kate Plus 8 at Grandma's yesterday and Grandma asked her if she wanted 8 brothers and sisters like that. 8 Kalee Jo's? Peyton said "no, not 8 Kalee's, 8 Peyton's!!!" It's a little crazy to think we could have had 3...

Happy Birthday to me!

I woke up this morning to Peyton asking for cartoons. She just can't find them. Which is crazy because any other time of the day, she knows how to work the TV, DVD, CD, MP3, dishwasher, vacuum...everything. She just has some kind of block at 7 in the morning I guess. So I didn't get to sleep in as I had hoped! Kalee woke up shortly after and walked out in her footy pajamas. She had them unzipped so she could pat her belly. She loves her belly! ~~~~~~ After I reminded Peyton that it was my birthday, she ran to find me the present that Grandma had sent. She whispered that it was scrap booking stuff, but I didn't know! So she and Kalee helped me open. They were both very proud of all the things in the bag! I loved it all! They even made me the best birthday cards! Thanks Grandma!! Matt and I went to see Gran Torino last night. It was pretty good. Then we went out to eat at Los Agaves. I had a yummy strawberry margarita...be jealous Meg, be very jealous! I gu...

I've been busy...

I've been a little busy the last few days (with the new babe in the family and all), so I feel like I have neglected my blog. So I may have a lot to say tonight!! ~~~~~~ Nan and Pop went off to Mexico! Lucky Ducks! I am so completely jealous. Especially since it was a whopping 20 degrees here today. I think it's like 80 or something there. They better remember that my Birthday is Monday and bring back good presents ( have I mentioned that I enjoy jewelry?)! Though I know that I am mearly their 4th (wonderful, beautiful, loving...) daughter, and not a Grandchild...or even a brand new granddaughter, I hope I still rate high enough on their list to at least get a sea shell or something! You see, something I have realized (and NOT quite accepted yet) is that the minute any of us had children, we became invisible. You walk in the door, and the kids get Hello's, kisses, hugs; while I try to walk in carrying 4 blankets, 1 diaper bag, my purse, 2 sippy cups, usually a baby...

Lily's Story

Image
Here's the story of Lily Mae. Kate and Steve on a break from walking the halls...Notice she is still all smiles!! Kate went to into labor around 3:30 Wednesday morning. They decided to go to the hospital around 6. Both worried about not making it there in time! They got Kate in and hooked up to IV's. She was in a lot of pain, and apparantly passed out when they were doing the IV. They brought her back around and gave her some pain meds and she started to feel better. After that she was saying how she didn't want an epidural. Her nurse told her Honey, you aren't going to make it!! Well, she did make it until about 5pm, then needed the epi. From 4 to 10, nothing happened and the doctor came back in to check. She decided they needed to get the ultrasound because she suspected that Lily was face up instead of face down. She was and they tried to turn her. Kate finally said that's enough and they decided to go on with a C-Section. Steve got some fancy scrubs, hat and boo...

She is Finally Here!!

Image
Welcome to the World!! Lily Mae McCario Born January 21, 2009 11:16 PM 8 lb 6 oz 20.5 inches long

Here she comes!!!

Kate's in labor!!! She went to the hospital at 6:30 this morning. I'll have a New Niece today (Hopefully)!!!!!!!

So Annoyed

I am so completely annoyed. Thankfully, I got my Biggest Loser fix. But I just have to get on here and say how much I can't stand Joelle. AHHH! I also officially hate Jillian's team. Though I am sure one of them will end up winning the thing because they are playing the game. I want the Kristin girl to win. Go Bob's team!! ~~~~~~~ As of 9:00 PM Tuesday, Kate is not in labor. I will sleep with my phone as usual...on a loud volume!!

The wait is almost over!

Image
Kate called today. She had her doctor's appointment this morning. The doctor did some things and gave her a cocktail to drink tonight. So hopefully she will go into labor in the next day. If not, she will be induced Thursday!!!! YIPPEE!!!! So Nan and Pop will be there! No birthday buddy for me though. That's too bad. We were so close! Kate says she is so ready. I'm sure if she has been having contractions for the last week. Steve, on the other hand, is a nervous wreck. They will be great parents! ~~~~~~ I built a fort for the girls today with blankets in the living room. They thought it was pretty cool. It did crazy things to their hair. Peyton thought it was hilarious. Kalee has been accident free for at least two weeks, so something was bound to happen to break her streak. She fell and hit her head on a chair AGAIN! So she has a goose egg and bruise on her forehead. I once saw in a magazine a helmet you were supposed to buy for your kid when they started crawling so they ...

Should I Be Worried?

Image
Peyton loves to Dance. She has been a dancer since she could pull herself up to her feet when she was a baby. She would get up and shake her hips. She would drop it like it's hot, shake it, walk it out...and whatever other dance move Mindy had taught her at the time. But today she took it to a new level and I am starting to be a little worried!! We were downstairs playing, and Kalee needed clean pants. So I took her up to change her and left Peyton downstairs. She had just turned on her music and was going to dance. Well, I came back downstairs to the music blaring (You really get a new appreciation for The Wheels on the Bus when it's played at top volume!!). Peyton was dancing up a storm, buck naked. I asked her where her clothes went. She told me she is better at dancing nakey! Oh no!! This comes after Christmas where she got her high heel princess shoes and called them her "working shoes" so that she could work on her digger. Aunt Tara pointed out that we probably ...

Harley is alive and well!!

Image
Harley is fine. Kalee chases him around daily yelling "DOG!! DOG!!" (So maybe he is not fine, but a little annoyed with her not learning his name!) I guess I confused everyone. He is not dead. I was just listing examples of things that had happened to firefighters wives when their husbands were at work. Bad example. Sorry!! Let's face it, if he had really died, I would have been a complete mess. He is my first baby and it would be horrible. I chose to believe that he will live forever. FOREVER!! ~~~~~~ I am anxiously awaiting the birth of my second niece. Kate is due January 25th. I am hoping she will be born January 26th, then I will have a birthday buddy!! But apparently yesterday, Kate thought she was having contractions, so she went to the hospital. She spent the night there hooked up to the monitors. Contractions were happening, but nothing else. So they sent her home this morning. I'm sure it was a long night for her and Steve. Maybe Baby McCario doesn't wan...

We're having a day.

Oh my gosh, can you believe how cold it is??!! Peyton's school is cancelled today. We got the phone call at 6:30. Matt got home from the firehouse. He said he didn't sleep much, but I am not sure what happened. He went to work for the electricians. I hope they are working inside a heated building today! He will be ready for a HOT dinner...maybe I'll take a page from Mindy's book and make some soup! He instructed me to not leave the house. Which means I missed my Weight Watchers meeting and Thursday morning Mall Walk. I guess we will try to go tomorrow! I think our heater has run non-stop since I woke up. That will be fun when we get the bill! Our power has flickered a couple times. Hopefully it will stay on. But we do have a generator, so in theory, I can turn it on and have heat that way. I guess it's days like today that make me realize I should have listened better when Matt gave me the generator instructions! He has it all written down somewhere...

Amazing, Just Amazing!

I had a crazy experience today...something that has never happened to me before! I drove south on 51 through Forsyth and didn't stop once! This never happens. Those stop lights in that town are ridiculous. They are never all green when I go through. I usually avoid Forsyth at all costs, but today was coming from Clinton and had to go through. I guess it's my lucky day. I should have bought some lottery tickets. We had to go to Clinton to take Kalee Jo to the doctor. Don't worry, nothing is broken!! She has had a cough for the past three weeks that was just not getting better. Last night, she was laying with Matt and coughed so hard that she threw up twice. Then, she didn't sleep most of the night. So to the doctor we went. She has another sinus infection. Her second in 2 months. She is now on antibiotics for the next 21 days. She is just getting up from a 4 hour nap, and is feeling a little better I think. Poor thing has circles under her eyes. I am addicted to the Bigg...

Exciting Sunday

Image
The girls and I were lazy, lazy today. We stayed in our pajamas until this afternoon. I love days like that! This afternoon, we went to visit Mindy and Doug. Peyton was "SO EXCITED!" She loves Mindy, frequently calling her Aunt Mindy. She told me that today we wo uld go see Mindy and tomorrow we would go to Mindy's wedding. She has been asking me when the lady was going to call so we could pick up her purple dress for Mindy's wedding. We made a mistake. We took Peyton to try on flower girl dresses and told her she could try on whatever she wanted. Her favorite ended up being a purple one. So even though we told her that Mindy wasn't having purple in her wedding and she would probably wear white or brown, she is set on the purple dress. It had been months since we tried on dresses, so I can't believe that she still remembers that purple dress. We got to play Wii with Mindy. Now I want one more than ever. It was pretty fun. They did Wii Fit and Kalee was even ov...

Peyton Burns

Image
Well, we've had a pretty uneventful couple of days. My excitement was going out to dinner and a movie with Mindy and some of her girl friends. We went to see Bride Wars. I thought it was good. It had some pretty funny parts. My mom was telling me today that it is getting horrible reviews. I'm sure it's not Oscar material, but the movies I like rarely are. We got there a little late and ended up sitting in the second row. I have never sat that close in a movie before. Instead of just looking at the screen all at once, I actually had to turn my head to watch the action from one side of the screen to the other. I totally had a numby by the time it was over from scrunching down in my seat to tilt back as far as I could. Oh well, it was a good time. We decided it was a little too like Mindy...one of the girls was a teacher and she helped with pep squad. Don't worry Mindy, I will sit on the aisle at your wedding and step in if anyone tackles you while you walk down the aisle....

Mall Walkers

I am rededicating myself to my weight loss and get in shape mission. So I decided that Kalee and I would become Mall Walkers. We go to the mall on Thursday and Friday's after dropping Peyton off at Preschool. One lap around the mall is 2/3 of a mile, so it's a pretty good work out when you have 3 hours to spare! It is quite the social gathering there in the mornings. We are the youngest by far. I would say the majority of people there are over 50. They love Kalee and are always waving and saying hi to her. I just can't figure out how these people are walking around in their winter coats, jeans, sweaters, sometimes even gloves. I am in my t shirt and sweat pants and am sweating like crazy. Maybe the point isn't to work as hard as I am wanting to! I am also running 4 days a week. Matt and I are going to run a half marathon April 4. I was doing really well with my training until Christmas came around and I started slacking off. But I am getting back on track. Peyton went b...

Firehouse, panties, and Barbie memories

Image
The firehouse stories have begun...Matt worked Monday. He came into the station and the crew that was getting off was complaining about a terrible stench in the dorm. They knew there had been some mouse issues in the house, and had been trying to get rid of it, so they thought maybe one died somewhere. So Matt said he went upstairs to look around. He walked into the room and said the smell was HORRIBLE! He can't figure out how those guys slept there all night. He looked around and didn't find a mouse. Instead, under someones bed, he found a container of chicken livers. Someone had taken it, cut a hole in the lid and left it in there under a guys bed so it would rot and smell. DISGUSTING!! I told you they were brutal. Peyton got a bunch of princess dress up clothes for Christmas and has really been enjoying them. She wears them pretty much every day. She is Princess Peyton and proud of it. Today, I was sitting in the living room playing Barbies with Kalee. Yes, Stacey, I am able...

Santa, Snow and DCFS

Well, Kalee went to the doctor today for her check up and we weren't rushed by DCFS coming out of the office, so things are good. She is healthy except for a cough that is ongoing. She weighs 30 pounds and is 34 inches tall. She is "large, but proportionally large. Off the charts." The doctor says that every visit we have been to for both of the girls. I guess we grow monsters...my dreams for volleyball players are kept alive!! Though thanks to Mindy, Peyton is way more interested in cheerleading. NOOOO!! Peyton had another sad morning with no Santa visit. This morning "it snowed. Santa comes when it snows. That's how the reindeer land. Why didn't he come???" I wonder how long this will last. But she did quickly move on to asking to go play in the snow. Now we got a dusting...not nearly enough to play in. So I am being a boring mom and keep offering her other things to do. I think it's supposed to snow more tonight. So maybe I'll buck up and take...

Getting Started

Image
Well, Tara Jo has inspired me to start a blog. I have thought about doing it for awhile, but never got around to it. Now that we are playing inside all winter, I guess I can sit in front of the computer and talk about our life while the girls go crazy with their hundreds of toys. Christmas is over, much to Peyton's dismay. This morning she came out and looked in the living room. Then she got all sad. "Why didn't Santa bring us more presents?" She just doesn't get the whole Christmas is over until next year concept! Even with all the Christmas decorations put away and the tree at the curb, she still expects him to bring her and Kalee something every night. She has even started her Christmas list for next time. Though I can't imagine what she could possibly want that she didn't get after 5 Christmas celebrations. Kalee goes to the doctor tomorrow for her 18 month check up. I guess really it's her 19 month check up. We were supposed to go at the beginning...
