I've been busy...

I've been a little busy the last few days (with the new babe in the family and all), so I feel like I have neglected my blog. So I may have a lot to say tonight!!
~~~~~~
Nan and Pop went off to Mexico! Lucky Ducks! I am so completely jealous. Especially since it was a whopping 20 degrees here today. I think it's like 80 or something there. They better remember that my Birthday is Monday and bring back good presents ( have I mentioned that I enjoy jewelry?)! Though I know that I am mearly their 4th (wonderful, beautiful, loving...) daughter, and not a Grandchild...or even a brand new granddaughter, I hope I still rate high enough on their list to at least get a sea shell or something! You see, something I have realized (and NOT quite accepted yet) is that the minute any of us had children, we became invisible. You walk in the door, and the kids get Hello's, kisses, hugs; while I try to walk in carrying 4 blankets, 1 diaper bag, my purse, 2 sippy cups, usually a baby doll, and a Kalee Jo. Kalee is promptly taken from me to be loved and I am told to shut the door...don't I know it's winter? OK, so it's not really that bad...I do get a hello after they are done loving the girls! Actually, Mom mailed me a birthday card before they left, I just got it today. Mom always sends the nicest cards. They usually make me cry. I am a crier, what can I say. Anyway, I hope they got there safely...we don't really know, we didn't hear anything. But no news is good news, right?
Lily Mae was supposed to go home today, but ended up having to stay in the hospital another day. She is mildly jaundice (I don't know how to spell that or really how to use it in a sentence...Is it Mildly Jaundice? Mildly Jaundiced? I don't have a clue, so I am going with Jaundice and hoping no one cares about my lack of grammer training). So she spent the day naked under the lights. Kate said it was rough. She had to be totally naked and had to wear a blindfold. They couldn't hold her and she cried and cried for a good 45 minutes until she wore herself out and fell asleep. Finally, they let Kate sit on the bed and hold her so they could both be under the lights. Her doctor is confident she will be fine and will probably be going home tomorrow. I am sure Scooby is anxious to meet her, and I know Steve is overly ready to be home. He is a home body and the poor boy has been sleeping on a fold up cot for the last 3 days. He's a trooper. I got to go see Lily again last night. I held her and she is perfect. She is just so sweet. She was smiling in her sleep. Her little round face is the cutest thing. She has quite a bit of hair. Dark brown. They had tied a little purple bow in it! Steve had a baby picture of himself there and she definitely looks a lot like him! Kate says she just got the best of the both of them and is perfect. She's right! Peyton can't wait to go see Lily. I have been keeping them away since they have colds. She says she is a cutie and really wants to hold her. Kalee could care less! Maybe once she sees her in person she'll be excited, she does LOVE her baby dolls!
~~~~~~
I have a few funnies from the girls the last few days. Just kind of random since our week has been a little random! Kalee was playing the other day and I asked her if she was stinky...did she poop? She usually says "NO" immediately...that's her automatic response. And it's not just "NO!" It more of a "NOWAH!!!" She really draws it out and let's you know she didn't do anything! Well, this time she turns around looks at me smiles and says really loud, "YUP!!" She was very proud of herself! She has started walking around the house with her hands on her hips. If pretty funny. She will stop, plant her feet and jam her hands onto her hips and look at you. Sometimes she puckers her mouth like she's giving you the stare down. I am afraid she will be walking like this and fall...she is not the most coordinated thing as we all know. If her hands are on her hips, she will probably break her nose or something because she can't catch herself fast enough. I'll keep you posted! Matt lost Kalee Wednesday. He put her to bed, then went to put Peyton to bed. He came back out and checked on Kalee in her room. She wasn't there. He looked in our room, nope, The living room, kitchen, dining...back in Kalee's room. Nowhere to be found. Finally he heard a little sound from our room. He opened up my bathroom door and there she was on the floor with her blankie. She looked at him and said "Stuck!" She had shut herself in and couldn't get out. But she wasn't saying anything. She was just waiting patiently to be found. Maybe this is a new game for her because her Grandma lost her today in Babies 'R Us. She was walking around looking at clothes and the next thing she knew, Kalee was gone. She had walked into the next aisle. Was just standing there looking at some little girl. Tara said I shouldn't worry...that at least she didn't leave her somewhere like she once did Goo!!
~~~~~~
We went with Tara Jo to register for her baby stuff today. Peyton had a bit of a break down in the Target bathroom. She didn't want to pee...she hadn't gone for 6 hours. Then she didn't want to wash her hands...too bad, mommy says we always wash our hands...ESPECIALLY in a nasty public bathroom. So we had a stand off. The water was running, she was standing in front of it saying she didn't want to wash them. I just waited with my best stern look (something I have learned from Matt. He has a great stern look. It's a mix of mean, stubborn, and "are you stupid?" If you ever see it, you'll know, and you'll probably do what he wants you to do! I think he learned it from his dad...Kevin totally has a stern look! It's awesome!). I won...She is stubborn, I am too! Mommy: 1 Peyton: 0 So then she melted down...we took a small detour to the van. We had a talk, she threw a bigger fit, she got over it, we went back inside where she promptly told on me to Grandma. She told her that I said bad things to her. That I was mean. So I guess I suck. Oh well, she'll appreciate me one day, right? Isn't that what they say? Someone tell me this is true??!! Well, anyway, I guess the bad things worked because she did what I wanted her to do and she didn't throw any more fits in the store. So I think it's safe to say: Mommy: 2 Peyton: 0!!
~~~~~~
We got the dreaded Head Lice note from preschool this week. Thursday Peyton came home with the note. She told me the lady checked her hair, but she was fine. Luckily, she doesn't share a coat locker with anyone. But then Friday we were in the car and Peyton says I have bugs climbing on my ear and back. I practically slammed on the brakes to pull over and check her. But then she says, I think they are bumble bees. Don't worry, they are gone. So now I itch just thinking about it. I have been checking her and have found nothing. That would just be a nightmare.
~~~~~~
The girls are spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa's. Matt and I are going to have a date tomorrow for my birthday. We are going to go see Gran Torino. Kate and Steve saw it and Steve said it was the best movie he's seen in years. His parents also saw it and said it was good. Matt wants to see it. We will try it out. I would honestly like to go see Twilight again, but that's not a choice when Matt is involved. So...
~~~~~~
1/2 M update: 6 miles tomorrow When Megan comes home in a few weeks, we are going to do the race route in Springfield together, 13.1. Hopefully it won't be freezing. I'm scared, but excited. We have become a little competitive with each other since I started running. So it should be fun!
