Life with the Hinds'

The campus at OSU has changed a lot since Matt and I have graduated. Here are some pictures of the new buildings...the biggest change is the new stadium and what will be the new athletic complex. The house that Katie and I lived in is now gone...as is the entire neighborhood. The University took back all the land and flattened it to make way for the athletic complex. It's so weird to drive through that area and see nothing where there were tons of houses, apartment buildings, etc. Sad too...we loved our little house! Poor West Street! The new classroom building...on Monroe...the "bumpy street". I think there was a parking lot here before... The new transportation hub and parking garage. There are buses now that go all over town. With bus stops and everything. They were just starting to have buses my last year at OSU. West Street...our house was on the right after that big tree about halfway down. Well, we've been home from Oklahoma for a few weeks now, so I guess I should get back in the swing of things here at home! The girls had so much fun playing in the kiddie pool and sprinkler while we were there...here are a few of my favorite action shots!! We had a great trip. It was so good to see Katie and Jeromy and get to spend so much time with them! We went wedding dress shopping for Katie and she found a beautiful dress! We also found a bridesmaid dress for me. It's very pretty. Short and perfect for the beach! It's color is called Mermaid...which is funny because when we were looking at the catalogs, I was making fun of that color name and then we saw it and both love it! The wedding date is set...February 9, 2010! Our trip reservations are made!! We are going to go for 6 days! So I can not wait for February so we can be on the beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico!! We went to Peyton's open house/orientation thing last week. She will be in the same classroom, but ha...

Here are some pictures from our Kansas visit. I put more on Photobucket...which may show up on the slideshow two posts down...I'm not sure. A lot are of the same thing...we took tons of pictures trying to get all three big kids looking at the same time! Wow! That's a hard thing to accomplish! I'm going to have to get home and get some comparison pictures of Peyton as a baby and Hayden. In my memory, they look so much alike!

We went to Kansas yesterday and spent the night with Emmy, Marc, Hunter and Hayden. We had a great time. The kids all got along and played and played. It's always nice to play with "new" toys! Hunter is such a sweetie! As soon as we pulled up he was giving kisses and hugs to the girls. Hayden is adorable! She reminds me so much of Peyton when she was a babe...with her chunky monkey legs and cheeks and blue eyes. I'll post pictures later. We got some good ones of all the kids! The girls were calling Marc uncle Marc, and Jackie Grandma! We got home this afternoon. I am officially tired of driving!! Jeromy came home right after us. He bought the girls a bigger pool! He is so sweet! It is very tropical...it has plam trees, a whale slide and a dolphin that is a sprinkler!! They have already tried it out and it's a hit! We are going to go wedding dress shopping Thursday in Tulsa! That will be fun...I'm pretty excited! We are going to be in Mexico ...

We are in Oklahoma!! After a pretty rough start to our road trip. Kalee tried to poke her eye out with a book and scared me half to death, then Peyton threw up...twice! All over herself and her seat in the van. But we made it here and have been enjoying ourselves. Katie and Jeromy gave the girls fishing poles! They have a pond and Jeromy has been building a dock just so they could fish! Peyton started with a Princess one, but it broke...the pictures of Katie wading out into the pond! So she now has a Barbie one that does not float! We found that out and Jeromy had to go in after it! Good thing the pond is pretty low right now! Kalee has a Dora one. They both are having a lot of fun casting and reeling them in. They don't have real hooks, just little weights on the end for practice. Katie caught a real fish and dropped it on the dock. The girls did NOT like it flopping around, so we will just stick to the weights for now! We went into Stillwater today and had lunch at ...

The girls and I are leaving for Oklahoma tomorrow!! I am so excited to go see Katie! We will be gone for 10 days. We are also going to make a side trip to Kansas to visit the Murphy's! We get to meet Emmy and Marc's new baby girl, Hayden, and play with Hunter! It is going to be a fun trip!! I have spent the morning getting the oil changed in the van and getting last minute snacks for the trip. I plan on stopping half way to have a picnic at a rest stop. The girls are pretty good travelers, so it should be just fine. They have their movies to watch and toys to play with. I have had an extremely frustrating day. We woke up this morning and hurried to get ready to go to Peyton's 4 year well checkup. Their pediatrician is in Clinton, so off we went. I walked into the office and gave her name...Peyton Hinds for Dr. Scerba...the lady looks at me and then says Dr. Scerba isn't here this week. I am NOT happy. Why did they not call me and let me know? Why did I just drive half an hour to an appointment for nothing? Seriously?? This appointment has been scheduled for a year. A YEAR PEOPLE!! I know they have computers that tell them what is going on. I really think it is not my responsibility to call and make sure the doctor is going to be there for the appointment they scheduled me for. ANNOYED! Then I went to the firehouse tonight for our monthly Auxiliary meeting. We have them the first Monday of the month...was anyone else there? No, of course not. So I drove somewhere yet again today for nothing. I guess the upside was that Peyton got to play with ...
