Fence and Birthday Parties
I have had an extremely frustrating day. We woke up this morning and hurried to get ready to go to Peyton's 4 year well checkup. Their pediatrician is in Clinton, so off we went. I walked into the office and gave her name...Peyton Hinds for Dr. Scerba...the lady looks at me and then says Dr. Scerba isn't here this week. I am NOT happy. Why did they not call me and let me know? Why did I just drive half an hour to an appointment for nothing? Seriously?? This appointment has been scheduled for a year. A YEAR PEOPLE!! I know they have computers that tell them what is going on. I really think it is not my responsibility to call and make sure the doctor is going to be there for the appointment they scheduled me for. ANNOYED! Then I went to the firehouse tonight for our monthly Auxiliary meeting. We have them the first Monday of the month...was anyone else there? No, of course not. So I drove somewhere yet again today for nothing. I guess the upside was that Peyton got to play with Uncle Doug. They had a feet stomping competition to see who could be the loudest, then played hide and seek. I think Peyton would have stayed and played all night with him! Kalee is still a little too shy. She needs more of a warm up period!
We had yet another busy weekend in the Burg. Tyler spent the weekend with us to help Matt put up our new privacy fence! Goober came and helped Saturday and he and Kevin also helped Sunday. Our yard is a complete white trash yard at this point. They took out the basketball hoop and some pole that was in the back yard, we think it was a satellite dish pole at one time...like the old huge ones. So those two things are sitting in the front yard now. They ripped out all the old chain link fence, so that is sitting in a pile in the back yard. They moved the shed from one corner of the yard to another, and brought in loads of dirt to try to fill in holes, level out the yard a bit. So our yard is a dirty mess, there are piles of junk everywhere and the driveway is a dirty mess from the dirt that was hauled in. But our fence is well on its way to being done and is going to be very nice! The boys all worked hard...well, when you could pull Tyler away from the sand box! I looked out the window once and Matt and Goo were working on the fence and Tyler was sitting on the girls' digger playing in the sand box. I took a picture, but it's not very good, so I won't post it! Matt says he is going to work on cleaning up the front of the house tomorrow, so we are only white trash in the back yard!

We also had the Hinds birthday party for Peyton. I made lasagna...it was pretty darn good if I do say so myself. I love lasagna! Peyton was very excited to open her presents and have her cake! She wanted to dress up so she wore a dress, her Cinderella dress up shoes, her pearl necklace, bracelet and ring (all of her real jewelry, she was stylin'), and she had a headband that had a sparkly poof thing on it. (Katie and Stacey you will recognize this headband from Mardi Gras 2004!!) It was also Matt's birthday, so we sang to him too! Peyton told him that he was the king at her Princess party and she and Debbie had made him a crown, so he wore it for about 2 minutes! (Just add that to the list of things Matt would never do until he had two daughters...right up there with painting finger nails!!) Thanks everyone for coming. Peyton had a fun day!

Happy Birthday to Peyton!!
I have some funny Peyton stories...Tyler spent the night Saturday, so he stayed in Peyton's bed. I blew up an air mattress and Peyton and Kalee both wanted to sleep on it in Kalee's room. So they were in there for awhile and I finally went in and told them that if they didn't stop playing and go to sleep, one would have to move to the bed. A few minutes later, Peyton yells for me. She told me that "I want to move to the bed. Kalee is annoying me and is not letting me sleep!!" Too funny!
Earlier that day, we got out of the tub. Kalee got out first and went off to get her clothes. Peyton got out second. Peyton likes to play the "I win game." Basically, she gets dressed first, then comes into the room and yells "I WIN!" because she was the fastest. She must have known she wasn't going to win this time with Kalee getting out first. So she says, "we aren't playing the I win game today. Because sometimes, I just get annoyed when I don't win." Apparently we are both easily annoyed these days!
