Peyton Burns

Well, we've had a pretty uneventful couple of days. My excitement was going out to dinner and a movie with Mindy and some of her girl friends. We went to see Bride Wars. I thought it was good. It had some pretty funny parts. My mom was telling me today that it is getting horrible reviews. I'm sure it's not Oscar material, but the movies I like rarely are. We got there a little late and ended up sitting in the second row. I have never sat that close in a movie before. Instead of just looking at the screen all at once, I actually had to turn my head to watch the action from one side of the screen to the other. I totally had a numby by the time it was over from scrunching down in my seat to tilt back as far as I could. Oh well, it was a good time. We decided it was a little too like Mindy...one of the girls was a teacher and she helped with pep squad. Don't worry Mindy, I will sit on the aisle at your wedding and step in if anyone tackles you while you walk down the aisle. I'm all over it!

Today Peyton drew a picture of our family on her new easel. It is the first time she has ever drawn anything that we could tell what she meant to be drawing. I am on the right, then Peyton, Kalee and Matt. She drew all of the girls then drew this large circle. She says "That's Daddy. He has a big head. Because he really does have a big head!" Now, sometimes when she talks, she gets all serious. She gets this look on her face that is very sincere, and she gestures with her hands to really bring the point home. This was one of those times. I never thought of Matt as having that large of a head, but in my experience with a 3 year old...they speak the truth. So sorry Matt. Then later, she was playing downstairs. Her and Kalee were shooting their drills at the Indians...Adam got a pop gun for Christmas and Uncle Steve told them all how to attack the Indians. They had secret passwords, seal crawled down the hall and everything. Anyway, she started shooting me, so I asked her why she was shooting me. She said, "Because Momma, you are just an annoying Momma!" Wow, the truth hurts. I guess she burned us both today. Oh, I just remembered...she got Matt twice. He started cooking supper. I was sitting in the living room with Peyton and asked her if she needed to go potty. She says, "No, that smell is not me, it's just supper." I laughed so hard. I think I could write a book of Peyton quotes. She is hilarious.
Matt decided to finally fix my treadmill this morning. It has had a piece broken on it since we moved, so that's been two years. He is the king of procrastination. The girls also got out their tools to help him fix it. He was getting mad though, he actually had to look at some directions. So he ended up not even replacing the part, just ripping out the old one and putting it back together. That's fine. It's not something it needs to work. But then he starts to move it back to place and I hear this loud crack. He broke the control panel off the treadmill. Next thing you know, he has gorilla glue and duct tape out "Fixing" it. In two days he says I can take off the duct tape and it will be good as new. Jeez!
I sort of feel the need to defend my mall walking...Doug M!!! All I have to say is this: It's -42 degrees outside, it's 106 degrees in the mall, Kalee is a celebrity, I think I am awesome. Anyone can join me who wants to...if you think you can handle it!! We can't all be as cool as me (even if I am an annoying momma.) hehe
