Getting Started

Well, Tara Jo has inspired me to start a blog. I have thought about doing it for awhile, but never got around to it. Now that we are playing inside all winter, I guess I can sit in front of the computer and talk about our life while the girls go crazy with their hundreds of toys.

Christmas is over, much to Peyton's dismay. This morning she came out and looked in the living room. Then she got all sad. "Why didn't Santa bring us more presents?" She just doesn't get the whole Christmas is over until next year concept! Even with all the Christmas decorations put away and the tree at the curb, she still expects him to bring her and Kalee something every night. She has even started her Christmas list for next time. Though I can't imagine what she could possibly want that she didn't get after 5 Christmas celebrations.

Kalee goes to the doctor tomorrow for her 18 month check up. I guess really it's her 19 month check up. We were supposed to go at the beginning of December, but Matt changed the oil in my van, something he is usually pretty good at... But I packed the girls in the van and drove out of the garage. Looked at the dash and the oil light was on. Looked at the garage floor and saw the huge puddle of oil... Something happened: in my mind, he messed up. In his mind, Peyton was helping Daddy change the oil and some gasket got messed up...He is never wrong, nor does he mess up. Something I love about him (usually). So anyway, Kalee will go to the doctor tomorrow. I am a little nervous. She has had a rough couple of weeks in the accident department and looks like we beat her. She fell off the bed (or was pushed by her loving sister...we aren't sure) and hit her eye on a chair. So she has a nice shiner. Then she stood up under the table and gave herself a big goose egg on the head. Then she fell down the stairs. So we thought she was going to have another black eye. Just a few bruises. Peyton says "she just flipped over and over!" Not good. And we are once again making sure the gate at the stairs is always shut. So she is a bruiser. We need to teach her to flex and grunt.
