It's such a nice day!
We have had a busy day today. It is so nice out!! We got a message from Matt at the firehouse that he forgot it was Ash Wednesday, so he needed to change his menu. Could I go to the store and get him some fish?? So we went to the store and got stuff for a firehouse fish fry. Then Peyton took us to the self check out and scanned everything and bagged it. This is one of her favorite things to do. And since we only had a few items and we were in no hurry, it was the perfect day for her to do it! That girl is so savvy when it comes to anything electronic, I tell you what!! Then we went to the firehouse and dropped off all 3 bags...5 items, 3 bags...that's what happens when Peyton bags for you. One bag for each kind of item!
Matt's new station is right next to the park, so we went and ran and played at the playground. Kalee was extremely excited! She got to slide. For the last month or so, every time we would pass a playground in the van, she would yell "SLIDE!!!" So she was pretty happy to be able to actually get out and slide! We also went to the duck pond and fed the ducks some bread that Matt gave us from the firehouse. As soon as we got out of the van, those ducks were all swarming up to us. Peyton was scared at first, but started having fun once she realized they only wanted the bread. Kalee on the other hand, had no fear of animals and was super excited about them! There were even two little squirrels that snuck up behind us and were waiting for some bread. Kalee liked them most of all. She tore them each off a good chunk and threw it to them!
We then came home for lunch and naps. The girls are sleeping now. I am so proud of Kalee. She has started falling asleep on her own (for real this time, not like the last time when Matt swore she did it with no problems!). She does get up a few times, but I just have been putting her back and she eventually stays and nods off.
I decided that I was not waiting for Matt to finish the entry walls to start painting. So I taped up the hallway and have it all trimmed out. Then I went to get a roller and we don't have any. So I guess I will go to the store once the girls wake up and maybe get that finished tonight. I love my color!! It is going to look so clean and relaxing and pretty!! Well, as clean, relaxing and pretty as a hallway gets! Maybe tomorrow I can get into the dining room and living room! Oh the excitement!!! Now maybe I won't be so embarrassed to have people over!
I am not feeling all that well. My throat has been hurting since Saturday and I have a cough. Apparently the sickness in our house got tired of living in little kids bodies and has moved on to me. Oh well, I'll get over it. I am so happy they are not sick right now. Knock on wood! I was up half the night coughing, then it dawned on me that I am an idiot...why am I not taking any medicine??!! So I found some night time stuff and it knocked me out for the next 4 hours. Blissful sleep. I will be taking that again as soon as Biggest Loser is over tonight, that's for sure!! So I also haven't been doing very well running. I just can't breath. So that sucks. I tried today, we ran for a little while, but not nearly as long as I needed or wanted to. Hopefully I can get well soon. With the sicky crap and my stupid back, half marathon training had just not been going well the last 3 weeks, and I only have 5 weeks left. Yikes!
Speaking of Biggest Loser...last night was so sad. I actually felt really bad for Bob. I have been mad at him and his team since they let Joelle stupid girl stay so long, but now see that he does have a nice heart. Can't wait till tonight to see what happens! Stupid President...
