Bobcat and the Park
We went to the firehouse today on our way to the park. Matt's new firehouse is on the edge of Fairview Park...the "off road"area of the city. So the fire department bought a Bobcat to use in "off road" rescue. And who did they buy this Bobcat from? you might be asking...Well, Bobcat of Springfield, of course! It looks pretty nice, they have the Maltese Cross on the front and are going to do more lettering on the sides.
But for some reason, the boys aren't happy... My guess is that they really want some Koozies to go with it. There are cup holders...so they must need Koozies. Or hats, you know because they don't always have to wear their helmets. They would settle for 3 XL t-shirts...but Matt says all they have is one key chain that they all have to share.
If only they had some connections. What they really want to do is be able to finish up the lettering on the sides and pull it out in front of the station with the engine. Then they can take some pictures, you know, really help Bobcat promote themselves to the "emergency arena." They are thinking future advertising...They are mearly trying to support the family of one of their own...
After some Bobcat driving, cookies and OJ at the firehouse, we were off to the duck pond. We had brought our own bread this time, so we didn't have to rob the firehouse of theirs.
I guess a lot of people had the Let's feed the Ducks idea today because the ducks were not interested in bread, and the pond was littered with soggy bread pieces. So we threw in a few hunks of bread and walked around the pond. The whole time, Kalee was waving to the ducks, "Hi Duckies!!!" Then when we left to go on to the playground, it was another wave and "Bye Duckies!!!" She just loves animals!
We went on to the playground and they played for a bit. There were a ton of people out. I am LOVING this weather and hope it stays warm now! I really don't want it to rain all weekend, but I think it is still in the forecast. Yuck!

Still NO GLASSES!! Matt says I should call anyway, even though they told me to call Monday if we didn't have them. I think I will just be patient. I am sure they will come eventually. I was thinking that maybe if at least one of the pairs was in, I could go get those, but if they aren't the ones that Peyton is really wanting, she won't be excited, so I will just wait it out. We saw a little guy at the playground with glasses. He looked smaller than Kalee, which isn't saying much, I guess, because most kids look smaller than my girls, but he was so cute in his little glasses. Peyton was excited to see another little kid wearing them.
I am embarrassed to say this because I have really been working hard, but i have pretty much decided I am not going to be able to do the Half Marathon. I am supposed to be up to 12 miles, but it is so hard. My back is still hurting pretty badly. After about the 6th mile, it is ridiculous. My plan is to still try to train. But it seems a little ridiculous to pay $70 for the two of us to run this thing when Matt doesn't want to, and I will not enjoy it. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks. I go back to the chiropractor on Wednesday, and that always helps. So maybe I just need to do that every week until the race. I don't know. We will see. I really don't want to let myself down by not doing it, but it seems so silly to hurt myself more when I could put it off a few months and find another one to do. Grrr.
YEAH!!!! The phone just rang...it was the glasses place!! Her glasses are in!! I take back all the mean thoughts I have been having. The girls are sleeping now, I will have to wake them up if they aren't up in the next half hour so we can go get them. Oh, I so hope they help her! I will post pictures ASAP!! I guess the pictures posted here are going to be the last ones of my Peyton Mae with no glasses.
OK,OK, so I can take a hint!!!!! I guess I will have our Decatur sales guy stop by with some goodies. I will see what is around or order something. Glad the glasses finally came in. Waiting patiently for pictures of the house and now of Peyton.
ReplyDeleteHA! They will be so pleased!! Matt won't have to fight over the keychain now!! It's at Station 3...he's on 3rd shift...March 9, 12, 15, 18...every third day and the good shift is there! They will entertain your guy, it will be worth a trip!
ReplyDeleteI am not running it either, Shelly! Job hunting and student teaching is very time consuming so running went to the wayside for me. Peyton is soooooo cute with glasses! :) I love the color and frame style!
