Crappy Appliances...Problems for this Domestic Diva!

I've been working on Trivia questions today. Good times. I hope I have thought of some fun categories for this year's trivia night. Should be a fun time! So like I've said before...get your team together and come play!!!

We went to the Chiropractor today. I love it there. I always feel so good after I leave. So I am going to run tonight. It will be awesome, I just know it. I am doing some positive thinking and visualization...OK, so not really, but maybe I should!

We went to Gma Joan's last night for supper. It was good...it always is! The girls always have fun when we visit. I think the novelty of different toys is enough to keep them happy for a few hours at least! Peyton was happy to show off her glasses to Gma! Because we were visiting, I missed Biggest Loser. We got home in time for me to see Mandi vote herself off. I guess I need to spend some time reading the synopsis of last night's show to see what else went on. Interesting!

I have decided that our house is a disgusting mess and there's no point in doing anything about it. The 1/4 inch thick film of drywall dust all over EVERYTHING is starting to drive me crazy. I have tried to keep the furniture covered up, but it just seeps in everywhere. Matt says that he really will finish the sanding this Saturday, so I can finally get it all cleaned up and finish the painting around the stairs. You would never believe a Domestic Diva lived here if you came to visit these days. I will have to remind Matt to hurry it up...I have a reputation to uphold!

So Amy tells me there is a Wii Dancing With the Stars game. I am going to check into this. I am very excited. Maybe that would be a good Easter Bunny gift for Miss Peyton. Especially because what she really wants is the cheerleading game...pom poms and all...and I just can't bring myself to buy that!! Mindy, do you have the cheerleading game? It seems like something you might be interested in!!

I have heard so much about Alyssa at the Fringe that I am going to make an appointment with her for a hair cut. I am needing a good cut and figure she is closer than Katie Y in Carlinville. So I have a call in to her to make an appointment. I think I will take Peyton and try to get her over her fear of hair cutting. She could use a trim. It would be her first haircut. Plus, I would like her to see a hair salon and meet Alyssa. Mindy mentioned that it might be fun for Peyton to get her hair done for the wedding. So I figure it would be best to ease her into it, not just wake her up on the wedding day and say "let's go get your hair done!" I don't see her being happy about that!

I am annoyed with most of my major appliances today. Our oven is on the fritz. The keypad on it is messed up. When it messes up, you can't use the oven. The stove top is fine, but not the oven. When the power goes out, like last night, it messes up even more. You have to flip the breaker, talk to it nicely, twirl around 3 times and clap your hands...then maybe it will work again. Well, it hates me, so it never works for me. It apparently likes Matt a little more than me because it will usually start up again for him. Well, I want to cook a chicken today, and have been trying to make it work all morning. It must know I am not sincere when I try to talk nicely, that I am really truly annoyed and want nothing more than to throw the thing to the curb and get a new one! So it looks like we will not be having chicken today for supper. Also, our dishwasher is gross. It is a year and a half old. It doesn't clean well at all. I basically end up rewashing all the cups because it always leaves this sandy residue on everything. I don't know what to do about it. Are you supposed to clean your dishwasher? It doesn't seem dirty. I use the liquid stuff that's supposed to keep your glasses from spotting. We are cheap and I don't use brand name dishwashing detergent (basically we don't use brand name anything...except for Q-tips and Ketchup...those are my two must have brand name items!), but I just don't see why that would matter. Any suggestions??

  1. I do not have the cheerleading game... but since I am slowly trying to push Peyton in to the sport of cheerleading, it may have to be a present that I get her :) I know, Matt will love me even more! Alyssa was a cheerleader, I will have to tell her to talk cheer with Miss Peyton at Fringe. Peyton will think the salon is fun
