Peyton's First Haircut

Before...

Today we went and got Peyton's hair cut. Man, I didn't expect to feel as sad as I did when Alyssa chopped it off. She looks very old now with her hair and glasses. Oh well, it's only hair, it will grow back. I have wanted her to get at least a trim for a few months now. But she has been terrified. I mostly blame Matt because he kept telling her that girls have long hair. So he finally changed his tune and she changed her mind. Since then, she has been excited to get it cut. She decided she wanted it cut short like mine. So that's what we did. I measured her ponytail (yes, I kept it) and it is 12 inches long. She was shy at the salon, so she had to straddle me in the chair and get it cut that way. We both ended up with hair all over us. Kalee just stood by taking it all in. We asked her if she wanted a hair cut and she said NO!! Peyton says she likes it. I'm sure she will have fun showing it off tomorrow at school. I am anxious to get her bath in the morning and get it washed. My guess is that it will all curl up prettily!

I hurt my back. It hurts bad. I can hardly nod my head without it hurting. I don't know what happened. But it hurts in case you didn't get that. Day 2

Day 2 went just as well as day 1 of Preschool. It seems too good to be true! Oh well, I'll take it! Peyton went right in and did her "jobs" (putting away her bag, folder and picking her drink). Then she went to play with a puzzle and read a book. No tears, no clinging, AWESOME!! Kalee was upset again that she didn't get to stay. She kept saying I want to play with the tractor puzzle at school. So she and I spent the morning playing outside. It's so funny how happy she is once we get home. I think she loves not having the competition for the toys or the bossiness that is Peyton telling her how to play! She had every baby out and every stroller with them. Plus, her tricycle, 4 wheeler, shopping cart, firetruck... I have a new TV obsession...Melrose Place. Sad, but true. I watched it last night and am hooked. Can't wait for next week! Sunny Monday

We had a fun day today. After Peyton got upset that Daddy and Pop were going to the ball park without her...it was a boys day...we decided to have a girls day. She told me that on girls days, you read stories and sing songs. Well, we haven't done any of those things yet, but we did swim a little in the freezing cold big pool. Then the girls swam in their little pool. They both brought their babies to the pools, so they had fun. I put the solar cover on the pool as soon as I got them out of it!! It's amazing that they don't ever think the water is cold! Peyton sliding with her baby Kalee "swimming." She sat in this little bucket for about 10 minutes! We had lunch and the girls napped. Then we went to the mall play place. I gave them the option of the playground and feeding the ducks or the play place. Peyton wanted the play place.
