OSU Homecoming

Mom, Dad, Matt and I went to Oklahoma for the weekend for Homecoming. We had so much fun!! We drove out Thursday night...got there around 1:30 in the morning. We stayed at Katie and Jeromy's house all weekend.

We spent Friday driving around Stillwater looking at all the changes to the town and campus. Mom and Dad haven't been there in 5 years. Matt hasn't been there in about 3 1/2. It's changed a lot! We got to eat at Cherokee Strip...by far the greatest BBQ place in the world! (OK, I haven't seen much of the world, but the greatest in Shelly's world!!) Katie and Jeromy have a pond, so we went fishing. Dad caught a little blue gill, Matt caught a little bass, and I caught a HUGE bass...I won the fishing challenge. I have the pictures to prove it, but they are on my phone so I don't know how to get them on here to show you my awesomeness!! Fortunately, Stacey wasn't there to show us all up by catching 42 fish in 3 minutes...all that would have been large. She is a master fisherwoman! Friday night we went to the Walk Around to look at the house decks. Pictures really don't do them justice. They are these huge walls that the fraternity and sorority houses build. The guys weld a metal framework, and the girls pomp the scenes. It is basically like a two story float made of little pieces of colored paper glued to chicken wire. Nothing is painted, it is all worked in through the colored pieces. All of them also have working, moving parts. It's amazing!

Saturday we went to the parade. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the parade stopped down the street from us. We thought they turned the corner and came by us. Turns out only some of them did. But we got to see the best parts...The marching band (I love them!), Bullet, Pistol Pete, and GARTH BROOKS!!! Also Barry Sanders (an NFL player who went to OSU) and Robin Venturra (A pro baseball player who went to OSU...I don't know if I am spelling his name right.). It was so exciting to see Garth! I saw him again later in the day and was literally an arm's length away from him yelling "Hi Garth!!" He didn't yell hi back, he must not have heard me!

After the parade we started tailgating with Sally and Stuart (Katie's mom and her boyfriend). They have a spot right outside the stadium. It's crazy to watch these people tailgate. They have generators to power their crockpots, lights, tents, grills...we had steak, chicken, brats, chili, it was quite a spread!! The people next to us actually had their dish and flat screen TV under their tents! Crazy!

Stuart gave us all tickets to the game!! THANK YOU STUART!!! Dad and Matt sat with Jeromy and Stuart. They were in the "cheap" seats...the $200 seats. They were on the 45 yard line about 8 rows up from the field! Right behind the team. The girls all had the sweet seats...Club Level!! ($350...crazy!) Club Level had all you care to eat buffets...one set out with BBQ stuff, chicken, pork, sausage; one with spaghetti, bread, Italian dishes, one with nachos, hot dogs, brats, cookies, desserts, etc. Then there were stations with candy bars, popcorn, bottle or fountain soda...all free! There is also a bar on club levels...the campus is dry except for these areas in the stadium. We laughed because beer was $3 a cup...but if you were downstairs, you would pay $6.00 for a little bigger soda! It was something I never dreamed I would be able to be a part of! Awesome! Plus, it was COLD, so it was super nice to have the club to go into to warm up in!

It was a very nice trip!

In other news, Adam turned 5 Sunday!! 5!! I can't believe it!

Peyton had picture day at school. She cried (surprise) and wouldn't get her individual picture taken. She sat by her teacher and cried for the class picture.

Kalee has chronic foliculitis according to the dermatologist. So we are again trying a different soap and hoping her sores clear up and we won't have to do anything else. Keep your fingers crossed!

Biggest Loser tonight! Yay!!
