Bragging on Peyton
Oh, I am having a fantastic day! Peyton has made me so proud today! She told me yesterday when I picked her up from school that she wanted to go into school today all by herself. Usually, there is a car line that you wait for and I park and walk her in. Today, she opened the door to the van, yelled, "bye! I love you!" and took off running into school! This is a major achievement for her! School has just gotten better and better as the year has gone on. No longer is it a nightmare every morning. Kalee and I went to Sams and got her a cookie cake that said GOOD JOB PEYTON!! I also got her a little present because I am just so proud of her!
We had parent teacher conferences yesterday with Mrs. Richard, Peyton's teacher. Here is what she had to say...
Peyton is doing well and has progressed past the morning drop off difficulty she was having at the beginning of the year. After the beginning transition of starting a new school, she is prepared to have a successful kindergarten year.
She sorts and classifies objects by a variety of properties.
Recognizes, duplicates, extends patterns, sch as sequences of shapes and colors.
Shows independent interest in reading related activities.
Prints first name and prints some letters crudely but readable for adults.
Listens to stories read aloud, asks questions, and makes pertinent comments.
Participates in the visual arts...paints often.
Develops relationships with children and adults.
Names all 26 letters and can give a word that begins with most.
She is becoming comfortable separating from familiar adults and shows comfort with new people and situations.
She reads often and spends time in the Book Nook with her classmates.
She has been a wonderful student!
OK, enough bragging, but I am a proud parent today! YAY PEYTON!!!!
