14 years ago today...

Matt and I have been a "couple" for 14 years. 
14 years...that's nearly half my life!

We went on our first date on May 10, 1996.  He is blown away that I remember the day.  We went on a double date with Sarah B. and JR.  HA!  JR drove.  Matt was still 15...couldn't drive me!

We went to Taylorville and saw some stupid, stupid movie.  I don't remember the name, but it had Ricky Lake in it (of all people to remember!).  Then we went to Hardee's for dinner.  Drove back to Pawnee and walked around a park.  Oh the memories!

Fast forward a month and a bit...We went on another date...probably again with Sarah and JR.  We were in Sarah's front yard getting out of the car.  I said something like, "are we dating or what?" to Matt.  His reply..."I guess if you want to." 

Oh, the romance of the moment. 

Well, I guess I wanted to...since 14 years later we are still going strong.

And he is still just as romantic today as he was back then...meaning not really at all!  Example...our anniversary was June 12...I told him when we got married that this was our anniversary.  It was a special day and I would not have it be ignored.  I expect special things to happen on this day!!  (yes, I am so bossy...)  Guess he forgot my rule wishes.  He called Mandy the morning of our anniversary and asked her to go shopping for him.  He needed a present and he needed it quick!  But he did remember that I wanted a horseshoe charm for my Pandora bracelet, so I will give him props for that!

Oh well, I love him just the same!

    Sorry, Shelly. The Hinds men are definitely NOT romantic (maybe there's still hope with Andrew). I do remember, though, when Matt was on very good terms with our local florist back when you were in high school :)

    You are right! He did buy me a lot of flowers. He spoiled me. Maybe I shouldn't have married him and the flowers would still be coming!!

I hurt my back. It hurts bad. I can hardly nod my head without it hurting. I don't know what happened. But it hurts in case you didn't get that. Day 2

Day 2 went just as well as day 1 of Preschool. It seems too good to be true! Oh well, I'll take it! Peyton went right in and did her "jobs" (putting away her bag, folder and picking her drink). Then she went to play with a puzzle and read a book. No tears, no clinging, AWESOME!! Kalee was upset again that she didn't get to stay. She kept saying I want to play with the tractor puzzle at school. So she and I spent the morning playing outside. It's so funny how happy she is once we get home. I think she loves not having the competition for the toys or the bossiness that is Peyton telling her how to play! She had every baby out and every stroller with them. Plus, her tricycle, 4 wheeler, shopping cart, firetruck... I have a new TV obsession...Melrose Place. Sad, but true. I watched it last night and am hooked. Can't wait for next week! Sunny Monday

We had a fun day today. After Peyton got upset that Daddy and Pop were going to the ball park without her...it was a boys day...we decided to have a girls day. She told me that on girls days, you read stories and sing songs. Well, we haven't done any of those things yet, but we did swim a little in the freezing cold big pool. Then the girls swam in their little pool. They both brought their babies to the pools, so they had fun. I put the solar cover on the pool as soon as I got them out of it!! It's amazing that they don't ever think the water is cold! Peyton sliding with her baby Kalee "swimming." She sat in this little bucket for about 10 minutes! We had lunch and the girls napped. Then we went to the mall play place. I gave them the option of the playground and feeding the ducks or the play place. Peyton wanted the play place. Really, I think they have more fun playing on the little cars that move when you put money in them. They don't even need them to...
