Sidewalk Chalk Paint

It was almost pleasant outside today...if you stayed in the shade.
So the girls put on their swimsuits and we headed out.
I have been wanting to show them how to make sidewalk chalk paint.
It's a bit messy...I recommend mixing and keeping it outside where you don't care if it gets dirty!!

We brought out all the ingredients.
You need...
Corn Starch
Water
Food Coloring
Cups or Bowls
Stirring Utensils
Measuring Cups
Paintbrushes

And...
Two Cute Little Girls...Add swimsuits and they get cuter!
(you can add as many little girls as you want.  I know some people only have one.  I think this would work for boys too...but I don't know much about them!)
You measure equal parts corn starch and water.  We used half a cup of each and it made plenty!
They squirted in their colors and we mixed them all up.
(that's the random neighbor boy in the top right picture.  Sometimes I feel like I am running a free and very under appreciated babysitting service over at our house!  I swear he has super human hearing and knows when our garage door is opening so he can come running out!)
They painted happily for at least an hour...until all the paint was gone.
They did spill two cups.

The paint starts light, but dries very colorfully.
I really, really hope it washes off easily with the next rain...
especially since neighbor boy was painting the brick on the house while I was helping Kalee!!
OOPS!
Nothing says "Please Buy This House" like a custom paint job!

One more neighbor boy oops...
He had the blue paint.
He dropped it.
It splashed up all over him.
Also all over Peyton.
Her hair is now slightly blue.
(am hoping that will not last long!)
But nothing compared to him.
He had it all over his hands and wiped it ALL OVER his face.
He was blue.
We are talking looks like a smurf.
I scrubbed him for a good 15 minutes.
Luckily it mostly came off and he is not stained for life.
OOPS!
(Guess that is the danger of coming over and playing at the Hinds House!)
