Kindergarten Sock Hop

The Kindergartners have been in school for 50 days!
That means they are 50 days smarter and it was time to celebrate!
They had a Sock Hop.
They wore poodle skirts and rolled up jeans.
Talk about adorable!
Peyton in her 50's getup...I made her skirt and am pretty proud of it, I won't lie!
She picked the color and all the little appliques.
She didn't want a poodle.
So she picked flowers and butterflies.
Adam was too stinking adorable!
His hair was all slicked back and he had a white shirt with his sleeves rolled up.
His jeans were rolled and he had Converse!
He told us after school that, "adults liked my shoes, but I didn't."
I'm not sure why he didn't!

They got to have root beer floats and chew gum.
I think they danced too.
(I haven't heard the whole story yet.  I had a rough day yesterday and ended up in the ER.  But that's a whole other story.  Hopefully Peyton will tell me about it tonight!)
Peyton did tell me that she tried to tell Mrs. Ryherd that she wasn't allowed to have gum!
Matt and I don't give them gum and Peyton told us that she didn't want to chew it until she was 75 years old.
I don't know if she tried it yesterday or not.
But she did love the root beer float.
Guess I won't tell her that is soda...since they don't get that either.
Man, I sound like a stick in the mud mom!

The class doing the "cool kids" pose!
Mrs. Ryherd and Peyton
Peyton had to wear her scarf in her hair to be like Mrs. Ryherd.
