Busy Weekend

Well, we have had a busy weekend! Friday, I had to go to the doctor. So the girls went to Nan and Pop's house while I was gone. We got to hear all about the Mexico trip. I would say mom and dad had a great time. Mom showed me some pictures and everything was beautiful. Their room looked right out to the ocean. Paradise! They went to some park while they were there and apparently there are huge iguanas walking around all over the place. What a nightmare to me! YUCK! They brought back cute little hats for the girls. Mom gave Peyton hers...a nice, butterfly, then gave Kalee hers. I looked at it and then asked Mom why in the world she bought a snake hat to give to my child!! She looked at it and said that she thought it was a dragon. Well, it's not, it is a snake. Kalee is lucky I even let it in the house! She thinks it's awesome, so I will live with it. I won't be touching it though! Which reminds me that the girls both like snakes. When we go into pet stores or to the zoo, they always like to look at them. I am NEVER with them at this point. Pet stores are my own little version of Hell. I like the stores that don't sell actual pets, just the stuff you need for them. What if someone walks by me holding a creepy crawly? What if one got out of the cage and is slithering around the store? What if one sees me walking by and knows how terrified I am and jumps out at me. I start sweating pretty much the moment I walk into a pet store, I am so scared. So I rarely go into them!

We went to see Lily Bug yesterday and spend most of the afternoon at Kate and Steve's. Lily is just so precious! I love her. It's amazing to me how you forget how small they are. Kalee looks like a giant next to her! Granted, my kids look like giants next to most children, but especially now! Peyton loved her and held her a lot. Kalee walked around gathering up all of her binkies and bringing them to her. I think a few took a side trip into Kalee's mouth, so Kate is being sure to wash them all! Kalee did hold her for a little bit. She just stared at her, then grabbed her leg and didn't let go. I asked her a few times if she was done holding her and she kept saying NO!! She enjoyed pointing out Lily's nose and eyes. Luckily, she didn't stick her finger up her nose or try to poke her eye out like she does to everyone else! Steve got home from running some errands and Peyton took him into Lily's room and gave him lessons on how to run everything in there...the swing, bouncy seat, music players. She knows it all! Stacey came later in the afternoon, so we had to share Lily at that point. Peyton sat with Stacey for awhile trying to have a snooze. She picked her nose and handed this big booger to Stacey. Nice. What a special present!

We then continued our evening with dinner at Ryan and Allie's house. It was good to hang out with them and everyone else. We don't get over there nearly as much as I would like. The kids all have a lot of fun together!
~~~~~~
We cleaned the house this morning. Good times for this domestic goddess! Peyton and Kalee both helped me mop the kitchen floor. It quickly became too dangerous for them though. They didn't really have a method, just mopped where ever they wanted and then tried to walk over it. They both busted their butts multiple times until I banished them from the kitchen. The way Kalee rolls, we would have had a trip to the ER for a broken bone if I had let them continue helping me.
~~~~~~
I guess the Super Bowl is today. I really just don't care. If Matt or Goober is not playing or I am not in the stands at OSU, I don't so much enjoy watching. It's just kind of boring. We were invited back to Ryan and Allie's to watch, but Matt is not feeling too well today, so we will probably just stay home.

Harley had become a food snatcher. We have lost several hot dogs and pieces of cheese to him lately. He is a bit of a beggar, which is completely my fault. It may be his one flaw! You'd think we never fed him by the way he acts. But in reality, he is pretty much over weight. He eats diet dog food! Maybe that's why he craves real food so much! But anyway, Kalee thinks it's hilarious when he snatches her food. Anything a dog does to her is hilarious. Dogs are her favorite thing in the whole world. Peyton, on the other hand, is totally offended every time it happens. She cries and cries and gets really mad at him. I keep telling her that until she learns to keep her food on the table, he is going to snatch it. She sits there with it in her hand and puts her hand down by her lap. Then she will get to talking and not pay attention and he will take her hot dog. (I know, Mary, this is hard to believe, but I swear, it's true...the girl never shuts up!! I will have to post a video!!)
