I learned something new today.
Peyton had school today. She made a groundhog craft...a colored groundhog on a stick that she pushed up out of his hole, a paper cup. So I asked her to tell me what she learned about Groundhogs. This is what she told me:
"Groundhogs live in holes until their alarm clocks go off. They go there in the fall but are very worried about Christmas. So sometimes they wake up for Christmas and they stop worrying when there are presents, but if there aren't presents, they just worry and worry. Christmas is important to them. They worry about it."
So that's new to me. Here I thought they were supposed to pop out of their holes on Feb 2 and tell us if spring was coming. Interesting.

Kalee and I resumed our Mall walking schedule today. It was a packed house this morning. There were even a few other younger people. A few young couples even, and a few other ladies pushing strollers. There is this Asian woman who walks around the place pumping her arms up above her head. It is amusing to watch. There was major controversy today though. A guy was in there running. I didn't think much of it. In fact, I was a little jealous of him and thought I would like to do that too. But then I started listening to the old people as I passed them. They were ticked. "He isn't supposed to be running." "This place is for walkers." "That is against the rules." They were NOT pleased. So I will not be running at the mall any time soon. I afraid of a pack of mean mall walkers attacking me with their canes and walkers.

Megan is home from Portland for a week. We went to the airport to get her. I think she was happy to see us all. Lily especially! The kids were all glad to see her. There were big hugs all around. Kalee didn't have a clue who she was, but quickly warmed up to her once we got home and Megan started throwing her around and playing with her. Plus, she brought the kids all presents, so they were putty in her hands!

Matt says he is not coming home tonight. We had a challenging morning to say the least. He walked in to pure craziness...Mommies yelling (I know, hard to believe, but I do occasionally yell), Peyton screaming, Kalee crying. Stressful. Peyton was throwing a fit the whole hour she was awake before we left for school, so I can say that for the first time it was almost a relief to srop her off, and she must have known it, because she was in there like a shot and didn't look back! Mornings like this make it a little hard to get Peyton ready. Her hair gets so tangled. It's a pain in the butt to brush and she cries and yells that I am hurting her. Well, I am not trying to! I am SO ready to cut it. Matt won't let me, but I am starting to think that it will grow back and he isn't going to get a choice in the matter. He isn't the one who has to deal with her screaming every morning. We have never cut her hair, so I may not have the guts to do it. Plus, she has it in her mind that she shouldn't cut her hair because Matt tells her girls have long hair. So she freaks out if you mention it. I will have to think of a good bribe if I decide to do it!

I think today is a good day for all three Hinds girls to have naps. That will be nice. Hopefully all will cooperate!

on Saturday, Ashley and I saw a mall walker powerwalking so fast, his shirt was DRENCHED in sweat...he was BARELY under a "run" speed though, so he was technically within the rules. Do you power walk or are you more of a casual stroller with Kalee?
