My poor Peyton

We went to the opthomologist. And the news is this...Peyton needs glasses. She has very healthy eyes, but is farsighted and has lazy eyes. There is a medical term for lazy eyes, but I can't remember it and no one but Kari will know what it means anyway! She needs glasses to correct her vision and they will hopefully strengthen her eye muscles and keep them from turning in. If not, she will need surgery to correct them. Just like Uncle Goo! She did very good at the appointment. They were all very nice and you could tell they deal with kids a lot. Everything was a game, princess references were everywhere, and there was magic, pirates, mickey mouse. She had a good time except for the eye drops to dilate her pupils. She cried and we had to hold her down. Not fun. They were all closed up by the time we finished, so we will go back tomorrow to look at glasses and see what she likes. She has already told her Daddy that she wanted Barbie ones. Whatever she wants! Matt got out his glasses to show her and Nan was there to see hers too. Kate called and said she would have to get hers out Sunday and wear them! So we are glasses shopping tomorrow. I wish she wouldn't have to wear them, but I am glad it is nothing more. The doctor did say they will be thick, so that makes me sad also. I don't want to cover up her pretty blue eyes! But I am not sure if they are thick because of the prescription or the type of lenses she has to have. Oh well, she will be beautiful no matter what!

Other excitement today...Matt got me a Wii and Wii Fit!!!!!!! Surprised me with that one!! He ordered it for Valentines Day and it didn't come in time. So now I feel bad for all the mean things I thought about him on V Day...Sorry Matt! So we have been playing for the last 3 hours. I haven't stayed up this late since I don't know when! So I need to get back to our bowling game...Matt is kicking my ass. That's OK, I beat him the first time!

    What games did you get? You better get working on Wii Fit, when you hit ten hours in the piggy bank... you get an upgrade to a BRONZE BANK! I was super excited....

    Hey Shell,

    I've been thinking since I read your blog last night about Peyton getting glasses. It is not a bad think and hopefully if she wears them now, she might grow out of them. Anyway, I thought if she was having a difficult time wanting to wear them, you could tellher "only very special people get to wear glasses. And if you look around, you can tell cuz not everybody gets to wear them!!!". I know you probably think it's squirrley, but it just keeps running thru my brain. Let us know how she does.

I hurt my back. It hurts bad. I can hardly nod my head without it hurting. I don't know what happened. But it hurts in case you didn't get that. Day 2

Day 2 went just as well as day 1 of Preschool. It seems too good to be true! Oh well, I'll take it! Peyton went right in and did her "jobs" (putting away her bag, folder and picking her drink). Then she went to play with a puzzle and read a book. No tears, no clinging, AWESOME!! Kalee was upset again that she didn't get to stay. She kept saying I want to play with the tractor puzzle at school. So she and I spent the morning playing outside. It's so funny how happy she is once we get home. I think she loves not having the competition for the toys or the bossiness that is Peyton telling her how to play! She had every baby out and every stroller with them. Plus, her tricycle, 4 wheeler, shopping cart, firetruck... I have a new TV obsession...Melrose Place. Sad, but true. I watched it last night and am hooked. Can't wait for next week! Sunny Monday

We had a fun day today. After Peyton got upset that Daddy and Pop were going to the ball park without her...it was a boys day...we decided to have a girls day. She told me that on girls days, you read stories and sing songs. Well, we haven't done any of those things yet, but we did swim a little in the freezing cold big pool. Then the girls swam in their little pool. They both brought their babies to the pools, so they had fun. I put the solar cover on the pool as soon as I got them out of it!! It's amazing that they don't ever think the water is cold! Peyton sliding with her baby Kalee "swimming." She sat in this little bucket for about 10 minutes! We had lunch and the girls napped. Then we went to the mall play place. I gave them the option of the playground and feeding the ducks or the play place. Peyton wanted the play place. Really, I think they have more fun playing on the little cars that move when you put money in them. They don't even need them to...
