Run...

Megan and I ran the race course yesterday. Well, most of it anyway. I was good until about mile 6, then my back was hurting so bad it was ridiculous. We ended up going around 11 miles. With me pathetically saying can we skip the Lincoln Park circle?? PLEASE?? So today I am pretty sore, but mostly my back. Ice and tylenol are a great thing! I think I proved to myself that I will be able to do it, just need to keep training! Megan could have done the whole thing. She's a total bad ass! Nicole...train for some hills! They are a few and they are all after mile 6. So you can get into your groove and then get all screwed up running the hills! But the end is back in town and flat again, so the finish is easier! I am pretty excited for April 4th. I will be able to finish!!

We spent time outside Saturday, like I said before. The girls both got scooter things for Christmas, and finally got to play with them in a bigger area than the living room/dining room/kitchen circuit they have been using. Kalee was pretty funny. She got a motorized 4 wheeler and she just laughs the whole time she is on it. She leans forward when she rides it like she's helping it go. Peyton got a normal scooter and is hilarious riding it. She is VERY careful when she pushes herself. She takes very small steps to make herself go. Our driveway is all messed up, it holds water like a pool instead of letting it run off, (Oh, the joys of home ownership, always something to get fixed. Or in our case, always something to fix from the previous owners who tried to fix it and jacked it all up...) so they were both wet, muddy messes by the time we went inside. They had fun though, so who cares!

I went to Mom and Dad's for dinner last night after Meg and I ran. The girls and Matt stayed home since Peyton was sick. It was sort of a welcome home Megan, happy birthday Shelly dinner. Mom made teryaki steak, spanish noodles, baked beans, salad, baked potatoes, rolls...and I wonder why I am not losing weight. But I didn't care last night. I was starving, and I have wanted spanish noodles for ever. They are one of the greatest things that mom makes. I will have to post the recipe for Lauren and Mindy...so worth the effort for those things! Then I got to blow out candles on a cake. Well, Adam helped me, then we relit them for Ava to try. Lily was sleeping, but I am sure she would have wanted a chance too! That's what's fun about birthdays now that we have kids in the family, we have to relight candles multiple times so they can all have a try. Pretty fun. Tons of kid spit on the cake by the time we're done!
