Paint, Poor Josh, Kalee's fits, and Yummy Recipes

I have not been a good blogger the last few days. I have been keeping myself busy painting. I got the brown finished and am going to pull off all the tape this morning and move back the furniture. I hope to also hang some pictures, but am really not very good at that, so we will see! I love the brown color. It is so pretty! I trimmed out all the green that I could. Matt is still working on the stairway walls, so I just did the hallway again. Maybe I will roll it this afternoon when the girls are sleeping. I also need to give Harley a bath. He is not a red dog anymore...more of a red, brown and green dog. He has some trouble keeping away from fresh paint. I guess to be smart, I will wait until I am done with the hallway before washing him!

I just heard that Steve's cousin, Josh was in a bad accident early Sunday morning. He rolled his truck about 4 times--he was thrown from the truck and the truck landed on its wheels. He has a broken pelvis/hips in three places, a gash on his head, and had to have surgery on his thumb and hand. After the accident, he tried to find his cell phone but couldn't, so he managed to get himself into the truck (the top was smashed down) and tried to start the truck. It wouldn't start, so he thought he would walk to a friends house that he thought was close, and took one step and fell down. He decided to get back in his truck and started honking the horn. He was really cold. The accident happened about 3:30 and about 4:30 or 4:45 some guy drove by and saw him, put him in his car to warm him up, and called 911. He's going to be out of commission for about 2 months and then will have to start therapy. Poor guy. He is so nice. He was a groomsman in Kate and Steve's wedding...he walked with Megan (Megan's Josh) if anyone remembers. He is so sweet. He gave Lily this pair of overalls at one of Kate's baby showers. Steve had given them to him when he was little and he was saving them for Steve's children! How sweet is that? I hope he recovers soon. What is it with people I know getting into accidents and breaking their Pelvis and having surgery??

Still no glasses for Peyton Mae. We are on day 8 of a 5-10 day wait. So I am really hoping they will come today!

So Kalee just threw a big fit. She couldn't get her baby into the stroller, so she started screaming and throwing things. She threw down her bear, then knocked over the stroller, then walked across the room to the other stroller and knocked it over. The whole time she is yelling. Temper, temper!! Oh, now she is picking up bear and loving him. I guess she felt bad. She's getting his blankie and putting the strollers up right!

Here are two yummy recipes that I talked about and said I would post...
Coconut Crunch Pudding (from Cheryl)
Mix the following ingredients and toast on a cookie sheet in a 250* oven for 40 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes and cool.
1 c. Pecans
1c. Coconut
1/2 c. Butter
3/4 c. Flour

Mix in bowl:
1 large or 2 small boxes instant Vanilla Pudding
3 c. Milk
Add 12 oz. carton of Cool Whip

Layer pudding and crunch mixture in a bowl. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Spanish Noodles
bag of egg noodles
6 slices bacon-cooked crisp and crumbled up
1 can tomato juice
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp onion salt
1/2 tsp salt

Cook noodles according to bag until almost done.
Simmer all other ingredients together while noodles are cooking. Mix noodles and juice and put in a baking dish. Bake at 350* for 1 hour.

  2. This is Tara's friend Jessica and I plan on coming to her shower. I saw that she had you on her blog and decided to RSVP this way. What a clever way to advertise the fact that she does not like the color pink!
