Another weekend
We had a busy weekend. We went to the Fish Fry at the Fireman's Club in Springfield Friday night. A group of firemen go every year. It is usually a good time. The food wasn't all that great this year. The fish sort of tasted like it had been sitting for awhile. Yuck. But the company was good.
We went to the grand opening of Gander Mountain Saturday. Matt thinks he could spend a lot of time in there. There were a ton of people. They were giving all sorts of free stuff out. The girls got koozies (OK, maybe these were for Matt and I), magnets, key chains, stickers, tattoo's, pheasant and deer hats, and a t-shirt. I got a Beretta key chain from the Beretta gun guy. They had all sorts of reps there walking around the gun section for the opening. So we talked to the Beretta guy and come to find out, he knew Marc Murphy. Small world! So I got some ammo and a holster for my gun. I'm such a bad ass! The APL was outside with dogs asking for donations. They had an Irish Wolfhound. He was HUGE!! At first I thought he was a goat, and wasn't sure why a goat was outside the store. Peyton got really excited about him and yelled, "He looks just like TUCKER!!!" Tucker is Tara and Tyler's dog. He is a big dog, but not nearly as big as this one was!
I went to help Mandy at her house Sunday while the girls went and played with Grandma and Grandpa. Her house is very cute. I had thought that I had been in it before when Audrey lived there. I had this picture in my head of what it looked like, but I guess I was thinking of another place. I don't remember this house at all. We ripped out all the carpet and she has beautiful hardwood floors underneath everywhere! They are awesome! I felt like we were on one of those home improvement shows on cable, ripping out the nasty carpets and being pleasantly surprised by what we found underneath! The place is a million times cleaner with just their removal! I can't wait to see it once it is painted and the new light fixtures are in. It will be awesome!
I am going to try to finish the entryway today. I am tired of waiting on Matt, so am going to be brave and try to be ladder savvy on my own. He is too busy to be of any help. Hopefully I won't fall and break anything! I'll keep my phone close!
Kate and Steve and Lily were at Mandy's yesterday. Lily had the best smiles for me. I was talking to her and she was just smiling and talking back. I love it! She is so sweet. Adam happily went off with Pop to places only for the guys I guess. Ava gave her binky to Lily! Hopefully she is happy for Lily to have it and won't want the nasty thing any more!!! Adam kept telling us that he is living in this house, but was confused about where the beds were!
