Busy Easter weekend!
Happy late Easter everyone. We had a busy weekend....so let's see...
Saturday we dyed Easter eggs. OH what a mess!! But they had fun. There was dye all over the place, especially all over them! Kalee doesn't get the concept of BE CAREFUL!! EGGS WILL BREAK!! She would pick one up and literally throw it into the egg dye cup. Splashing dye everywhere in the process. Amazingly, they only ended up breaking 2 while they were coloring. Later, I let them play with them, and they ended up breaking all but 2! We went to the firehouse to distribute treats in the afternoon. The ladies auxiliary has started taking treats once a month to all the houses. This month was 3rd Shift day...Matt's shift. I made some sugar cookies (pretty darn good if I do say so myself...one of my best baked goods) and some butter cake. My van smelled so good going to the firehouse. We went and sat with Matt for awhile because Mr. and Mrs. Bobcat were coming to see the Bobcat and the firehouse. Plus, hopefully Peyton would talk to Mary!!! Well, she didn't make a liar out of me!! She did talk! It was all that prepping I did, I think. She was hardly shy at all. It also probably helped that Mary brought both of the girls little treat bags! Peyton talked to her and was even having Mary hold her and was giving kisses (very sticky kisses thanks to yummy suckers) and hugs by the time they left. Peyton was upset about one thing though...after they left, she said, but I didn't get to give Mary's friend a love!! She didn't quit get that JP was not a friend, but a husband!! Mary took lots of pictures of the Bobcat and the engine. Did any of them turn out? To JP's liking? He was such a photography director!! I think Matt really enjoyed showing the house, even though there isn't much to it!!
The Easter bunny came Sunday. He hid baskets and left eggs full of candy and money all over the house. Peyton woke up first and was very excited! She found all the "P" eggs and both her and Kalee's basket. Then when Kalee finally woke up...8:30...why doesn't she do that on regular days?! She was basically shown where everything was by her loving, overbearing sister! They were both very excited about it all. Peyton got a Dora Wii game and she was speechless. It was so cute. She just held it with her mouth hanging wide open. I LOVE IT!! We got to Nan and Pop's about 2 hours later than I had wanted to get there. But it was fine since we didn't eat when we were supposed to anyway. They had baskets there also. They both got little Crocs sandals. They are so cute! Mom made Spanish noodles again!!! My favorite! Yummy! We were supposed to go to Grandma Joan's, but we didn't make it. Our day was not long enough for all we were supposed to do. It never is on holidays. We basically always end up running around like we have our heads cut off and no one enjoys any part of the whole day. I seriously need to figure out some kind of system. I keep saying we will go to my family one year, Matt's the next, split it up, but then I always end up feeling guilty that we didn't see everyone. It's hard with the girls because I think everyone will probably want to see them (I assume so I guess, maybe no one does, who knows!) Oh well, we'll figure it out some day.
Goo Goo was home for the weekend. I wanted Kalee to be able to see him. Well, Peyton too, but Kalee is the one who wants him so badly here lately! It didn't work out. Too much going on!! Sorry Goo Goo...next time!
I signed Matt and I up for a hunter's safety course today. It's in May. So between now and then, I need to figure out how to shoot a 22 with confidence. I don't want to be out there with all those hunter guys looking silly!
Peyton has a hair appointment tomorrow. Hopefully she will go and it will be fine. We have been talking about it a lot, so everyone keep your fingers crossed!! I'll post pictures! You will probably be shocked if she does what she says she is going to do with her hair!
Trivia this weekend...come on people, sign up! Team McHinds may be needing extra players...because Matt and I are pretty sure Tara Jo is going to go into labor Saturday night while she should be trivia-ing!
