I will do better...
I am sure all of my followers (if I have any left) are wondering what is going on in my exciting life! I have not been a good blogger. It is nice out, so we are outside...not good for blogging! But now that I have my iPhone, I can blog any time! So here we go..
We had a swim party at our house this weekend for the kids...well, for the adults too, I guess! It was fun. I had a good time watching the kids swim and play, and eating Kate's coconut cake! Yummy, it is so good! Lily came decked out in her flip flops and super cute swim suit. Adam and Ava came in their little swim suits...they are all so cute! Adam is a swimming fool. He is NOT afraid of being under water and likes to go under a lot. Peyton and Kalee both also love being in the pool. Kalee swims in her life jacket and wiggles her whole body, it is so funny. I like our fake pool, but am annoyed that it never is clear. I don't know if we need to buy a filter that will actually work or what! Matt is too busy to figure it out and I don't know anything about it. Annoying!
We started swim lessons yesterday morning at the Fairview Pool. Peyton took them last summer and both girls are doing it this summer. Why do I do this to myself? I should know by now that they are both shy...Peyton especially. So, of course, Peyton spent nearly the whole class crying, and I spent most of the time trying to calm her down. Kalee got to go to her class for about 5 minutes, and wouldn't do anything either. AHHH!!! So today my plan is to put Kalee in Peyton's class. (we were doing the parent/tot class, but I think she can do most of the things in Peyton's class, the next step up) It doesn't help that Peyton's teachers are 2 boys. She doesn't much care for boys other than her daddy, uncles and grandpa's. Oh well, she will either get over it or I will have wasted $40. Such is life! Let's just say I am not looking forward to it.
We are looking forward to this weekend. We are going to a retirement dinner for Don Burton. It is a roast, so should be pretty funny! Kate and Steve are being brave and watching the girls for us since the dinner is in Hillsboro!! The girls are excited to go to Kate's house, it's always an adventure. Plus, Lily is there, so that makes Peyton very happy! Friday night is our annual Extravaganza! Matt, Pop, the girls and I went to Alton last weekend to purchase our illegal fireworks. Should be a good show! If you want to watch, come to the McTaggart Ranch around dusk. This is Matt's most favorite holiday...he is a true pyro! And, of course, we are all looking forward to Tyler's Roman candle Dance. It gets better every year!! Saturday we are invited to a cookout at our friends house, then are going to watch the Pawnee fireworks show from the comfort of Mandy's front yard! Talk about front row seats! Should be a busy weekend and a lot of fun.
Well, that's about all that's happening here. I will do better...
