Crazy Two Doors Down Neighbor

So these people moved in to a house two doors down from us about a year ago, maybe longer, I don't really remember. Ever since they moved in there, I have been creeped out by this guy. (I think I've told Megan this before) He is a starer. If he is outside when you are, he just stands and stares at you. The girls and I play outside a lot and really, we play in the front in the driveway often. So he just creeped me out. I am not completely paranoid, because 3 of the neighbor ladies that I talk to have also commented on the weirdness that is this guy. Well, I think it's safe to say that he makes me nervous, especially with my two daughters and even more especially due to the fact that Matt is gone for 24, sometimes 48 hours at a time, and the people around here know he is gone. I finally made Matt look the guy up on the sexual predator's listing online. He is not on it, so that made me feel better. However, we found out last week that he has been in jail for robbery and battery. GREAT!

I honestly wouldn't worry too much about this...I just stay away from them and completely ignore them at all times...except for an incident that happened last week. He lost his puppy and was looking for it. He thought it went into the neighbors garage, so he asked if he could look, she let him. The dog wasn't there. Well, he finally found the puppy, picked it up and threw it into the yard, then started beating it. Apparently (and this is all the story of the two neighbors and one of their husbands) our old neighbor, Roberta, who is 81, said something like you shouldn't be doing that! So he then went into a rage and started throwing trash and screaming and yelling. At some point, someone called the police. They came. There was a scene. After they had left, he went to our neighbors and told him to call the police one more time, he dared him... Then continued his rant at one time yelling I will kill you!

After this all went down, he put a house for sale sign in his yard and a sign that said "no more police in the Burg...to sign petition, knock on my door!" I was happy!! They were going to move!! Too good to be true, they took the sign down. Matt talked to a policeman he knows through the fire department and he said the guy is a piece of work. He told Matt he would keep an eye on things around here. He is a County cop who lives around the corner from us. Anyway, I am more than a little nervous being here alone now when Matt is at work. I guess that's why I make sure the doors are all locked to the van and house. And like Katie said, well, now you have a gun. Jeez! So everyone keep your fingers crossed that they will move for any reason soon!

Not much else is going on. We got up this morning and cleaned out the van. I still had garage sale stuff in it from last week! We went to Target to return the curtain rod yet again! Then we went to the park and played on the playground for an hour or so. I am ready for a nap today. I didn't sleep at all last night. I tossed and turned in bed and think I saw every hour of the night last night.

I am anxious for Matt to get home to get the play by play of he and Pop's big night out. They stayed at the casino, so maybe to top it off, they won some money! Wouldn't that be nice. Their seats at the Derby were right behind home plate and up about 12 rows. I'm not jealous at all! Tara did make a good point...they won't get any balls back there!

Peyton quote of the day:
S: Peyton, take of your sweater. It is too hot out for you to wear a sweater."
P: "But mom, Look at how stylish I am!!"

  1. Is your neighbor's name Bob? I didn't realize when you said you had a crazy neighbor like mine, that he really was almost EXACTLY like him! How crazy! Maybe it is a brother to mine? LOL I know I always say I am just going to stare back but as soon as I make eye contact I get totally creeped. I haven't had any major blow ups this summer (knock on wood) but I do walk on egg shells when I go from the porch, to the pool, to the shed.... I know about a month ago my psycho was not happy because I had the radio on AND Doug was hammering... YOU WOULD THINK WE RESPECTED OUR NEIGHBORS ENOUGH TO NOT MAKE NOISE WHILE LIVING IN A LARGE CITY..... HA! :)
