Feeling Crappy

I'm sick...great.

My throat hurts something terrible and it's hard to swallow. Good times. Kalee is also sick. She has a cold. She is very stuffed up. Peyton doesn't have it yet...yet! Matt came home (for the 5 minutes he's been here this week) and said he was feeling crappy too. So it should be a fun next few days for us.

I took Kalee to the doctor yesterday for her rash thing. The doctor thinks it's foliculitis (I have no idea how to spell this). Some skin condition that is infected. So she is back on antibiotics again. She also thinks that part of the problem is Kalee's dry, sensitive skin. So she told me to change to a Dove soap and apply lotion excessively...at least three times a day. She also wants her to see a dermatologist. So they were supposed to call with an appointment today. Of course, they didn't, so I guess I will be calling them in the morning. Poor Kalee! She is going to be like Stacey with her sensitive skin!

Peyton's teacher told me today that Peyton had a rough day at school yesterday. Crying a few times, not wanting snack, and not wanting to play duck, duck, goose. So when I picked her up today, I asked the aide how her day was...how she was doing. She told me that she had a better day today. But she said that Peyton rarely talks in school. She will do the activities, but doesn't really interact. She said she is starting to play more with the other girls, but has to be told to keep her hands to herself. This does not surprise me. When she is with any other children, she likes to be touching them...grabbing, hugging aggressively. I said I am always telling her to keep her hands to herself! Matt asked her why she doesn't talk at school. She said "I don't want to. I sing the songs though!" Hopefully she will get better as the year progresses. This was what we were so worried about for her in the first place...the whole socialization issue. It makes me sad that she doesn't talk...she never shuts up at home!!

Matt hasn't been home much this week. He worked Monday at the firehouse, worked for the electricians yesterday, came home long enough to eat supper, then left for a Union meeting, worked today, came home to change his clothes, and went to play softball. Now tomorrow, he is back at the firehouse. I am feeling a little like a single mom.

It is Fire Prevention week at the firehouse. So I think I am going to take the girls to Station 1 tomorrow morning to see the program. They have a smoke house, a pole for the kids to go down, they show how fast they can get dressed, then they have a puppet/magic show. We tried taking Peyton to it when she was 2...it was right after Kalee was born. She was excited to do it all, then we went to the puppet show and Elmo popped out...she started screaming in fear. So we left! We were at the firehouse Monday and they have it all set up. The girls got to see the bunny that they pull from the hat. He is in his cage in the conference room! Doug said to come back Thursday since it's a third shift day and he would be there.

I am ready for bed...it's 6:00! I think it will be an early night for the Hinds girls! 7:30 bed time sounds good to me tonight!!
