My Goal...
I read somewhere (I'm sure it was in a motivational book...I'm into those these days...I need all the motivation I can get!!) Anyway, I read somewhere that if you share your goals with others, you are more apt to accomplish them. This is me, sharing my goal with others. Hopefully it will make me more apt to accomplish it.
This road is my goal.
It may not seem like much, but here's the details...
It's 1 mile long.
It is hilly.
It sucks.
It especially sucks when you are running it while pushing a 47 pound 4 year old and a 30 pound 2 year old in a stroller that weighs 30 pounds itself.
That's right 107 extra pounds.
I avoid this road.
I don't like it.
I hate hills.
They hate me.
Well, no more!!
I will conquer this road. I will run the .6 miles it takes to get to this road from my house.
I will run 1 mile (basically all downhill).
Total run:1.6 miles.
Then the fun part (see that positive thinking?)
I will turn around and run UPHILL.
For another 1 mile.
Then finish by running home another .6 miles.
That's 3.2 miles.
A 5K.
(technically a 5K plus .1 miles, but who's counting?)
With hills.
So to recap...
I will run a 5K and I will include hills. Specifically the hills on this road...
It's my goal.
I'm trying something new.
Also...my confession. A year ago, I might have been able to do this a little more easily. I hereby admit that I slacked off. Running in the winter is not fun....So basically I am starting over and not being afraid of hills (as I have always been in the past).
BRING IT ON!
PS...Kalee and I ran half of it today. I'm on my way!
